Happy New Year!! I wish you all a great year filled with some amazing old and new books.
On December 23rd I officially had my last day working in the hospital I worked at for more than 11 years. It was an emotional day, but also a pretty good one. I got surprised by my coworkers, received some amazing and sweet gifts. And above all I felt loved. It’s so strange not working there anymore. And although it hasn’t been very long yet, it is very quiet. Not receiving any emails, messages.. it will take some time getting used too I guess.
Christmas was lovely and relaxing. We spend it only with my parents and grandma, after making sure we didn’t have the C word off course. I made Turkey for the very first time, and was excited when it ended up being very tasty.
This week I prepared for my kids last day at their current daycare center. Since their daycare was a part of the hospital, we had to look for a new daycare too. They had a fun day, and our little girl was excited to give their gifts to their daycare workers. We also had an appointment by phone with their new daycare. So it’s been a bit of a roller coaster.
New Year’s Eve we spend watching The Witcher with my best friend and some yummy snacks. It was a nice and relaxing evening. Which ended in very little sleep since our girl decided 5.30 was a good time to wake up. LOL!
Saturday we started our new year with some exciting things. The plan is that I’m going to eat vegetarian, which meant I wanted to look for some new recipes. Since I love cooking this is super exciting for me. I also started a buddy read on Instagram, and we are reading Twilight. Since that has always been one of my favorite reads, I’m really excited to revisit those pages.
Next week I’ll start my new job, so I plan on preparing myself a bit today (Sunday).
I hope you’ll are doing well. Do you have any new year’s resolutions?

I hope your new life will bring you as much warmth as your previous job appears to have done. You all sound like a tight knit group. Thank you for your service as a first responder during these last two years especially. Nurses are angels. When I had my lumpectomy, my nurse sat with me most of the night offering some of his life stories to get my mind on other thoughts, wisdom and laughter. Six years later, I still remember him with great fondness.
Yes, it sounds like you’ve run the gambit of emotions this week. Good luck with your new job and happy reading! Happy New Year!
Thank you for your kind words Patricia. I’m happy to read you still have fond memories of the nurse that stayed with you that day.
Happy New Year and happy reading.
It can be so emotional to leave a job, especially one where you’ve been for years. The people there can become a second family. Good luck with your first week at the new job! Glad your first turkey turned out well! 🙂
It sure was an emotional goodbye.
Happy New Years Tanya, and happy reading.
Happy New Year! I’m glad you had such a lovely farewell at your old work although I can imagine the current rest and non-interruption of work emails takes getting used to. I’m still saving the Witcher for when I’m done with deadlines so I can really binge it. I hope you and the family have a lovely week 🙂

Happy New Year Juli. We have one episode of the Witcher left. I want to see it, but I don’t want to see it. LOL!
Happy reading.
Happy New Year. No new years resolutions for me as it never works for me. I do have plans I want to put in place, which I will be taking one step at a time.
Happy New Year Nadene.
Good luck with the new job! One of my goals is to eat more vegetarian food. I got a pressure cooker for Christmas, so now I have to find veggies to put in it. 🙂
Thank you AJ. I really want a pressure cooker too one day. But I also got three ovens, and an airfryer.. So I might have to confince my husband of it’s use. 😀
Happy reading!
Glad to hear you had a nice holiday! Starting a new job has got to be exciting! I wish you the best of luck!
Nice new reads! These are new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!

Before anything else, you have such a lovely family. Now, no new year’s resolutions for me. I always fail to fulfil them.
Good luck with the new job. 🙂
Thank you Tania. Happy New Year.

Happy New Year Jessica.
We sure had a great time. Happy reading.
I am sure leaving the hospital is bittersweet. I am glad your coworkers gave you a nice send off. We watched Witcher recently too! Have a wonderful New Year!
It’s definitely been a bit of a rollorcoaster emotion wise.
The Witcher is amazing.. We only have to see the last episode.
Have a great week and happy reading.

Thank you Anne.
Happy New Year and Happy reading.
Happy new year! I hope you’re able to relax for a bit. I know it’s a huge change, but take advantage of that quietness. I gave up meat almost 10 years ago, and it was not as difficult as I thought it would be.
Happy New Year Kristin. So far the not eating meat thing isn’t hard at all. It’s suprisingly easy to be honest. 😀
Happy Reading!
