In a tangled mess of betrayal and chaos, I was moved almost overnight onto rival territory under the protection of the one man I never wanted to be a burden to.

Jameson King.

In order to keep me safe, he handed me a ring and told me I’d become his wife. It’s a marriage made of convenience, but there’s a thread of truth neither of us want to examine. The past we’re ignoring, the almost we could have had if our lives were different.

If I hadn’t chosen wrong.

I keep trying to convince myself it doesn’t matter, not when we hold hands, or sleep in the same bed. Because Jameson has always held me at arms length, and my ex is coming for me…we’re just biding our time before this all comes to a messy end.

This is where we promise to hold, to honor and cherish…but what are vows made from lies?
Jameson will stay long enough to ensure I’m safe, and then he’ll let me go, just like he always did before.

After devouring the first two books in the Stone Riders series, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the third book. So when I received the ARC on my kindle, I was so excited and started reading right away.

In ‘Where We Promise’ we read the story of Jameson and Penelope. They met years ago and there has always been something special between them. But things never worked out between them. Now Penelope is pregnant with another guys baby, and she and her baby are in danger. In walks Jameson to safe her, and soon they agree to get married to keep Penelope safe. There is a lot of history between them and the more time they spend together, the harder it is to keep their true feelings hidden. And lets not forget the danger that is still lurking around the corner.

‘Where We Promise’ was a book that grabbed my attention right from the start. I’m not a fan of love triangles, and at first I was afraid this book would be about one.. But luckily I soon found out there is no love triangle in this book and I started to enjoy it more and more. Throughout this book we read about the past and the present. And it’s done in a way that I definitely enjoyed. We read about how Jameson and Penelope meet when they are in there teens, and how they end up getting married to keep Penelope safe in the present.

This book was filled with a lot of angst and longing. It made this read definitely one I didn’t want to put down. I loved how we got to read this book through both Penelope and Jameson’s point of view. And boy did I wish they where just honest about their true feelings many years ago.

I also really enjoyed how the main characters of the first two books had a part in Penelope and Jameson’s story. And I loved every moment between them. The MC part was a bit more prominent in this book in my opinion, but it didn’t bother me at all. And above all, it makes me so excited for the next book. Silas and Natti’s book will break me, I’m sure!

‘Where We Promise’ is part of the Stone Riders MC series and it’s best read in order.
