Sasha Whiskey is done being the good girl. She’s ready to wrangle in the one man not looking to be caught and give him a taste of Whiskey. With any luck, one taste won’t be nearly enough.

Equine rehabilitation therapist Sasha Whiskey has everything she needs right there on Redemption Ranch—a job she’s passionate about, a loving family, and Ezra Moore, the sexy single father who went from trying to nail her as a belligerent teen to keeping his distance as a successful therapist and the person to whom she compares every other man. She’s done with comparisons. She wants the real thing. But going after what she wants means risking everything they’ve both worked so hard to achieve. If only dating co-workers weren’t forbidden.

Melissa is one of those authors I’ve found last year and really loved. She has written a lot of books, and obviously I’m way behind.. But I love how every book is part of a series, but is still easily read as a standalone. This book is book three in The Whiskeys: Dark Knights at Redemption Ranch Series, and I have read and loved book two. So I was super excited when I received an ARC of ‘A Taste of Whiskey’.

In ‘A Taste of Whiskey’ we read the story of Sasha Whiskey and Ezra Moore. Sasha and Ezra have known each other for years. Sasha is a hardworking girl who works with horses at her family’s Ranch. Ezra has been working as a therapist at the ranch for years. Ezra is a single parent to his sweet young son, and Sasha has been the one helping them out whenever necessary. Sasha and Ezra have been friends for years, but there has always been more between them. Nothing ever happened though, because they both know that there is a lot at risk.

But now, after years of secretly pining for the single dad, Sasha knows it is time to let him go. She can’t keep comparing every guy she meets to Ezra. But when Sasha starts to look for more, Ezra realizes he can’t keep his distance any longer.

‘A Taste of Whiskey’ was right from the start a very fun and sweet read. It is clear right away that there is a lot more between Sasha and Ezra than they both realize. Funny enough they both never acted on their true feelings and now they have spend years not taking a shot with each other, afraid to risk their friendship, Ezra’s job and Sasha bond with Ezra’s little boy.

The chemistry between Sasha and Ezra, is easily noticed. And I honestly wondered how not every person surrounding them already knew their true feelings. It was so clear to me! I loved reading this book through both their point of views. It was fun, and definitely made for some slow burning swoon worthy moments.

Life at Redemption Ranch is so enjoyable for me to read. I love getting to know all these characters. I knew some characters already from the previous book I read, but I also still have a lot of questions about some of the other characters. And this book definitely made me want to read all the books in this series.
