ZANDERS

Chicago hockey isn't complete without me - everyone's favourite player to hate. I know my role, and I play it well. In fact, I thoroughly enjoy spending the majority of my game time in the penalty box before leaving the arena with a new girl on my arm each night.
What I don't like is the new flight attendant on our team's private plane. She works for me, not the other way around. But I'll be sure to remind her of that, and I can guarantee, by the end of the season, she'll be begging to quit her job.
But every road trip blurs the lines, and I can't quite figure out if I keep pushing that flight attendant call button in order to push her buttons, or if it's more than that.
STEVIE
I've been a flight attendant for years. I thought I'd seen it all, but when my new job lands me onboard working for the most egotistical and self-righteous diva in the NHL, I start to second guess everything. Including the promise I made to myself of never hooking up with an athlete again . . . no matter how annoyingly tempting he may be.
Evan Zanders is unfiltered, unapologetic, and too attractive for his own good. He loves his image, but I hate everything about it.
Everything but him.

These last few months, I have been seeing ‘Mile High’ around. And when I read the book description, I knew this was a book I wanted to read myself. Luckily enough I got myself a copy in one of the bookswaps I participated in. And last week it was time for me to start reading.

In ‘Mile High’ we meet flight attendant Stevie. Stevie is starting a new job as a flight attendant working for a Chicago pro hockey club. The job sounds perfect, leaving lots of free time Stevie can spend volunteering at the dog shelter. The only down part of her new job is Evan Zanders. Evan Zanders is an unfiltered, arrogant, extreme good looking hockey player who leaves the arena with a different girl every match. Zanders is everything Stevie doesn’t need in her life, but the more time she is forced to spend with him, the more there seems to be about the guy people don’t know.

‘Mile High’ was a very fun read I enjoyed from the moment I started reading. We read the book through both Stevie and Evan point of view, which was a lot of fun. Stevie seems is this confident, hardworking woman on the outside. But she has a lot of body confidence issues. Which felt really relatable. Evan on the other hand was super arrogant, and definitely one of those guys that I wouldn’t like at all. But we soon learn there is a lot about him we don’t know. And I loved getting to know both characters.

The chemistry between Stevie and Evan was amazing. And I loved how Stevie made sure Evan had to work hard to get her attention. It made for some very funny moments as well. I laughed out loud several times. And there where some steamy moments, and some very romantic moments that made me swoon for sure.

The side characters we read about in this book where also a lot of fun. And I definitely hope to read more about those in other books in the series. Add the whole sports spart, and I had a lot of fun with this read. Half way through I did feel like the book lost a bit of it’s pace, and I found my mind wondering off a bit. But luckily things got better again soon. And overall I had a lot of fun with this read.

‘Mile High’ was a very fun read and I can’t wait to read more books in this series.
