When his mega-famous boy band AnyDayNow breaks up, international pop star RJ Contreras strikes out on his own. But when his solo career flops, RJ retreats to a no-frills apartment where he can hide out from the world and lick his festering wounds.
But when the girl next door starts slipping 'good neighbor' contracts under his door and complaining about his behavior through strategically placed Post-it-Notes, RJ snaps out of his self-absorbed melancholy to wage war.
Nothing short of an act of nature could repair the relationship between these two strong-willed enemies. But guess what Fate has in store
After reading two books by J. Bengtsson this year I knew I had a new author to add to my favorites list. ‘Cake’ and ‘The Theory of Second Best’ just where such great reads, I knew I wanted to read more by this author. So when I saw the sign up for ‘Ripple Effect’ I didn’t even had to think about it and signed up. When I received the confirmation email telling me I would be getting an ARC, I got super excited, and started reading as soon as I could.
In ‘Ripple Effect’ we meet Dana, a first-grade teacher and RJ, an international pop star. Ever since the band that made RJ famous broke up, his life was turned upside down, and RJ decided to hide away under a pseudonym. His neighbor is Dana, and from the moment these two meet they rub each other the wrong way. But when life gives them a humongous twist, they learn that there is so much more about the other than meets the eye.
Wow!! This book is just.. Wow!! I don’t even know where to begin. This book absolutely blew my mind! From the moment I started reading I was completely hooked. I don’t know what it is with J. Bengtsson, but her books just make me cry. Every single time! And that’s definitely not something that I do easily while reading a book! But this book just is so intense, unsuspecting and beautiful. I loved it and it in a day.
The two main character Dana and RJ are very different. But they also are quiet perfect for each other. Dana is a very strong woman, who learned to stand up for herself. She has a lot of siblings, yes you read that right.. this part was hilarious, and she is just someone I would definitely like to be friends with. Dana is definitely the kind of character I won’t forget about for a long time.
RJ’s character at first seems a bit arrogant and shallow. But we soon find out more about him, and I really just wanted to hug him. There is a lot more about him than you’d expect at first. And in the end this guy definitely made me swoon.
What I didn’t expect at all was how this book kept me sitting on the edge of my seat. But it sure did! And I loved everything about it!
‘Ripple Effect’ was an amazing read I loved from start to finish. This book definitely makes me want to grab every single book by J. Bengtsson. And I’d really recommend it!
