GoodreadsI had big plans when I returned home to my small town, but they didn’t include a retired hot-shot hockey player getting in my way.
The last person I wanted to fix up my historic dream home with was the handsome older man, with money to burn, who bought it right out from under me.
But thanks to my father, that’s exactly what happened. Colton Crawford was making my house a home, and I was back in my childhood room, trying not to think of the towering, gorgeous Adonis with a killer smile… and how much I hated him.
Or at least that’s what I tried to tell myself.
Because the more time we were forced to spend together in the dust and debris, the less our age-gap mattered.
And the more the sparks flew.
Colton was used to scoring on the ice, and after a freak storm left us sharing one tiny bed in his metal camper, the heat smoldering between us was hot enough to burn us both.
But just when I thought my sexy, new neighbor might not be so bad, real-life came knocking, reminding us what we walked away from.
When Renee Harless approached me a little while back with the question if I wanted to read and review her new upcoming release ‘Time For You’, I was immediately super excited. And when I read her book description, I knew this was a read for me. Small town, grumpy/sunshine.. yes.. that’s a book with my name on it. And when I received the ARC shortly later, I started reading as soon as I could.
In ‘Time For You’ we meet Autumn and Colton. Autumn just moved back to her small home town Ashfield, after her adventure in New York came to a bad ending. Now Autumn is reconnecting with her family, and trying to find her way again. Not sure what she is supposed to do with her life next, she takes it slow. And when she sees the house she always thought of as her dreamhouse is up for auction, she figures it is time to take a chance on it.
What Autumn didn’t expect is being forced to work with the handsome ex-prof hockey player Colton. Colton is just retiring from hockey, and is trying to think what to do with his life next. And when he meets Autumn, he still isn’t sure, but he definitely knows for certain he wants to spend more time with her. Although there is an age difference, the two have insane chemistry which can not be denied.
‘Time For You’ definitely was a very charming read that kept me interested right from the start. The small town of Ashfield, was very charming and I loved everything about that small town. The gossip, the shops and definitely Autumn’s family that has lived in Ashfield for a very long time.
Although I mostly loved ‘Time For You’ I also had some small issues. Nothing that kept me from wanting to finish, but still. Mostly I felt like this book had everything I could have wanted in a romance novel, but it was a bit rough around the edges. Things for one moved really fast between the two main characters, there is supposedly a big age gap between the characters but it’s hardly ever mentioned, and in the end I just felt like the ending was a bit rushed. Which was a bit funny since in the first few chapters I felt like the book was very descriptive and a bit slow.
But the romance between Autumn and Colton was definitely fun to read. There where some very sexy moments between them. And I rooted for the characters from the moment I started reading this book. I also feel very curious about Autumns siblings, so I would love to read their stories. And have you seen that cover? Gorgeous.

I usually love a hockey romance but this one might not be for me. It sounds like there are pacing issues (both too slow and too rushed), and the speed of their relationship. I’ll probably pass on this one but I’m glad you mostly enjoyed it despite some issues.
Thanks Tanya. It definitely was an enjoyable read, but it had it’s flaws. And honestly, there wasn’t a lot of hockey 😉
Hm…I hadn’t heard of this author before. I am not sure if I want to pick this one up or not. I like the blurb, but I think the pacing might bug me. Great review, though!
Thanks Deanna 🙂
I’m glad you were able to still enjoy it. I remember reading from this author before, but it’s definitely been a while. Great review! 💙
