Trav Becker is a police detective with multiple lives. Or
to be more accurate, he’s a police detective who knows that multiple versions
of himself live in countless different streams of existence.
When another Trav Becker appears bleeding and dying at his front door, Trav
quickly realizes that something is dreadfully wrong in the multiverse.
Pursued by an FBI profiler who believes (with some justification) that Trav is
hiding something, the detective races to save two kidnapped girls while also
trying to sort out why he keeps turning up dead.
Desperate to preserve his home timeline, Trav is thrust into a hidden war that
threatens to destroy the very fabric of reality itself.
Dennis Green returns to the universe he created in “Traveler” for
another mind-bending thriller.
My Review:
‘Prisoner’ is the second book in The Traveler Chronicles.
I read the first book, ‘Traveler’ in July and although this was a very
different read than my ‘normal’ reads, I really liked the story. So when Dennis
W. Green emailed me with the question if I wanted to read the second book in
the series, I immediately said yes.
Trav is a police investigator with the ability to enter other versions of the
world he lives in. The last time he traveled between ‘worlds’, his life changed
drastically and ever since that experience Trav tries to be ‘normal’ and forget
about these other worlds. But forgetting about it becomes hard when other ‘Trav’s’
come bleeding and dying to his door. When the case of two missing little girls,
where Trav has been working on for weeks, seem to involve the different ‘worlds’
and traveling between them, Trav is forced to do everything in his power to
save the girls. And that means getting in the middle of the things he tried to
forget about.
book series unlike anything I’ve ever read before. It’s very interesting, intriguing
and it definitely keeps you guessing until the very end. I don’t know what it
is with Dennis W. Green’s writing, but it keeps you hooked till the very last
page. It’s definitely not because this is an easy to read book. The Traveler
world is very complicated and definitely needs your complete attention.
Especially since there are multiple versions of Trav in this book. I was
definitely a little confused at times, but the action, the thrill of the story and
the awesome characters definitely made up for this.
there are multiple versions of the three main characters Trav, Sam, and Morgan,
but you’re still able to keep them apart. It’s a little confusing at times but
not so much to make you lose the line of the story. And the confusing part
actually fits the story since the main character is also confused about all the
same looking people. I found this to be a very impressive part about this book.
book series. I like the cases Trav works on, and combined with the Traveler
world this is definitely a book that will not bore you fast. I definitely
recommend reading the first book ‘Traveler’ before this one.

Thank you for the kind review, Maureen! For someone who claims Traveler is a little out of their comfort zone, you totally get what I am trying to accomplish!
You're very welcome Dennis. I really enjoyed this series so far 😉
I don't think this is a book for me, as I am not a fan of different timelines or world with the same people. Although it does sound interesting with the mystery of why that other Travis is there and bleeding. The different versions of the main characters sounds confusing, so it must be well written if you can keep them apart.
It can be fun to step a bit out of your comfort zone and give a book a try and discover you really enjoy it :). I have that happen a few times to me as well and it can be a fun experience. Great Review Maureen!
This book really was very interesting. Although it got a little confusing at times, I still loved it because I think it really was the authors intention to make it confusing since the character himself was also confused at times.
It's definitely good to get out of your comfort zone. But also a little scary at time 😉
Oh now this has a cool premise Maureen..all those lives in different time streams and a detective to boot…adding to my list
Awesome Kimberly. It really is a good series. Very interesting and unlike anything I've read before!
