I’m a big fan of Samantha Young’s books, and I have been for a while. I started her On Dublin Street series a little while ago, so when I had a free moment in my review schedule I got myself a gift and started reading ‘Before Jamaica Lane’,

In ‘Before Jamaica Lane’ we meet Olivia Holloway. Olivia recently moved to Edinburgh in this cute little apartment. Shortly after moving she met her best friend Nate. Nate is this handsome charming guy who made her feel a lot of things. But right from the beginning Olivia knew, Nate could only be her friend. Because she is definitely not his type.

I loved the previous books in this series. And ‘Before Jamaica Lane’ is definitely another great one. Right from the beginning I completely fell in love with these characters. Olivia is a librarian and kind of a super nerd. Who wouldn’t like her? I mean, she is definitely one of those characters which life I would love to have. Well, at least her job. LOL!

But I think Nate was my favorite character. He seems to be this playboy, but the thing about him is that he doesn’t hide that fact to anyone. And he was just really kind, funny and also kind of a nerd. And the chemistry between Olivia and Nate was just off the roof. I loved them so much, I simple couldn’t stop reading.

There were also lots of funny moments in this book. I laughed out loud a lot of times, which made my husband wonder what I was reading. LOL!! But seriously.. if you’re looking for something funny and romantic this book is definitely for you.

The thing about Samantha’s writing is that I always feel like I’m really a part of her world. Like I really know her characters personal. And in this book this isn’t any different. I simple loved Olivia and Nate and I could easily imagine me being a part of their friends.

We also got to see the characters from the previous books throughout this read, and it was definitely a fun part of this book. I can’t wait to read the other books in this series.
