The Theory of Second Best (Cake, #2)

After reading ‘Cake’, the first book in the Cake series, I knew I wanted to read all the books in this series. I just loved ‘Cake’ so much and couldn’t put it down. So as soon as I was able to start, I got myself the eBook of ‘The Theory of Second Best’ and started ...KEEP READING »

Cake (Cake #1)

I’ve been reading so many raving reviews about ‘Cake’. And this book has been on my TBR ever since its publication date in 2016. So since I’ve been determined to read more books from my TBR list, and after reading another awesome review by Tanya @ Girl Plus Books about book two, I knew it was time to finally dive in.

And boy did I love this book. In ‘Cake’ we meet Jake and Casey. Jake is one of the hottest rock stars of the moment. And Casey is just an average college girl. She is kind of a nerd, and has always been one of the guys and the one who says the wrong thing. So when Casey and Jake meet, Jake isn’t paying any attention to Casey. But then Casey starts talking and soon Jake is mesmerized by the one girl who treats him normally.

Well.. if that cover wouldn’t make you want to grab a copy, that book description will. Right?! I mean what isn’t to love about a romance story between a famous rock star and the girl next door? As a Nothing Hill lover this book was just written for me and when I started reading I simple couldn’t stop.

I just loved everything about this book. I loved the two main characters Jake and Casey, and I really loved how they met and how they started falling for each other even though they were totally different people with totally different life’s. And although the romance was amazing and kept me hooked, there was also a lot of humor in this book that made me love this book even more. I literally laughed out loud multiple times.

The chemistry between Jake & Casey is flying of the pages and I was rooting for them from the start. They have this insane connection, and I honestly think I might be ruined for any other romance story now. LOL!! Well.. not for long, but still. These two are so awesome.

And what I also really loved was reading about Jake’s siblings. They have this amazing bond and it definitely makes you curious about their story.

‘Cake’ was an amazing read I loved from beginning till end. And I honestly can hit myself about not having read it way earlier. Sigh.. I’ll be reading the other books in the series soon.
