This week has flown by. I only had to work two days this week, which was very nice. We celebrated Kings Day on Wednesday. This is a national holiday over here in the Netherlands. (You can see a reel about our day on my Instagram page.) It was such a fun day with our kids. And the weather was lovely. I got some fun children’s books for a bargain, which obviously made my day.
On Thursday I found 8 secondhand books in the Night Huntress series by Jeanine Frost for an amazing price. I’m still a bit in shock I got it for that price to be honest. LOL! I haven’t read any books by Jeanine Frost before, but I’ve been wanting to start this series for a while. And the books are in pristine condition, and have never been even opened to the looks of it. Lucky me!
This weekend we visited my mom and my bonus dad. And we will mostly be getting everything in our home ready for Monday. On Monday morning, 07.30 a.m., builders will start working on our new home addition. They are going to build a whole new room on our roof. It’s exciting obviously, because we will get a beautiful new master bedroom, and we will have a spare room for office space and a bed for visitors. But boy am I anxious too. The idea of all the mess for the upcoming 3-4 weeks, and all those strange people walking through my home. Don’t even get me started about how on earth baby boy will sleep during the day! LOL!! My introvert brain is all over the place to be honest! I’m going to try and share the build on my Instagram if you’re interested.

How exciting about the renovations. I would have anxiety too, just keep your eye on the outcome.
I definitely will do that. Happy reading 😉
I worked extra and had some team bonding time outside of work, too. Since I’m still working from home, I didn’t mind doing some face to face stuff, although it did cut into my reading time. Made it through The Shadow of Memory by Connie Berry, which I really enjoyed.
I’m glad you had a read you enjoyed Mark. I hope you’ve been able to relax a bit this Sunday. Happy reading. 😉
Shopping books on Kingsday is my fave! Since I was with my BF and 2 other friends, I didn’t get to do it all day, because they were sick of it after an hour or so, lol.
After that we rented a little boat! 🙂
Have a great week!
It’s the best!! But a boat is awesome too. You weren’t the only one I bet 😛 Happy Reading.
Ooo well done on that bargain book haul and all the best with your home improvements. My week has been super busy, at work and personally, so I very much need the long-weekend we are having here in the UK now. Take care and happy reading. 🙂
Thanks Jessica. I hope you’ve been able to relax today. Have a great bank holiday. Happy Reading.
Yea for your great book haul!!
My thoughts and sympathies with you for the construction! We are entering our 5th month of major renovations and no, we did move out…!! You will be okay!! Just think of the final product and how nice it’s all going to look.
Have a good week and good luck!

Yikes.. 5 months? I can’t believe your still functioning. LOL! They hope to be finished in 3 weeks.

Oh wow, finding a whole stack of desirable books at a used book price is great! I love the whole experience of searching for, and finding, a good title. Good luck with your home reno, may it go smoothly.
It’s definitely a great experience. I don’t get to do it as much unfortunately. But this was great. Have a great week and happy reading.
That’s exciting about the renovations! I’m sure the finished work will make all the hassle worth it!

What a great book haul! I hope your construction project goes well, and your baby isn’t too disrupted by all the noise. It will be worth it once it’s done.
Have a wonderful week!
Thank you. Happy reading.
Good luck with the construction, that’s exciting.
I love secondhand book shopping. I haven’t done that in a while and I can’t wait.
Thank you Alicia. Happy reading.
I’m so happy you got the Night Huntress books and hope you love them. It’s very exciting about your renovations. At least your main floor stays the same except for noise and I suppose they will be putting in stairs somewhere. Hopefully, it will go quickly and smoothly. Happy May Day!

Ooh a good collection of second-hand books that you’ve been wanting to read is always exciting. Good luck with the renovation works
Thank you. And it sure is exciting. I’m so happy it found the deal. 😀
I toooooootaallyyyy GET YOU! We’ve bought a new house and the first 6 weeks will be construction, and probably after that as well, because a lot of the builders are so busy right now, first time they could come to check on the house and see what they can do is in 2.5 months…
I’m curious about your home renovation! 🙂
How exciting! Congratulations on your new home. It’s definitely messy.. but I keep telling myself it’s for a good cause. 😀 But on the inside I want to scream a bit. LOL!
Home construction is always such a disruption but I hope it goes smoothly. Just keep thinking about how wonderful it will be will it’s finished. 🙂 Hooray for the great deal on the Frost books! Now you have every reason to dive into the series.
Thank you Tanya. I definitely try thinking positive 😀
I have never lived through a major renovation, but I would just try to take it one day at a time and try to keep myself busy and at the end of the day just think about the progress of what got done by the builders and yourself.
