Happy New Year!!
Welcome to the new and improved Maureen’s Books. As you guys might see things are different around here. If you’ve followed me in the last couple of weeks you may have already read that I moved my blog to WordPress. Well, not me, I got some great help! And that was definitely necessary. I’ve been wanting to move for ages, but I was just so scared I would lose content and followers. Thankfully a Web Developer reached out to me on Twitter and he did everything for me. It was nerve-wracking really, but here I am.. back in business and I’m loving the new blog! We’re still working on it though, so not everything is perfect yet but we’re getting there. What do you think of my new look?
So it’s been some crazy two weeks. I was free from work for Christmas and celebrated with my husband, baby girl and some family. Our baby girl had some sleeping problems over Christmas, so that was definitely hard since we are so used to out girl sleeping through the night from when she was only 6 weeks old. But thankfully it is getting better.
Since I was free for Christmas I had to work four days from last Saturday till the first of January. It was the first time since I got back to work I had to work so many days in a row, combined with waking up in the middle of the night to feed our baby girl I was completely exhausted and didn’t do much for New Years. Thankfully I’ll be off work a lot the upcoming two weeks. I definitely need to rest a little.
So this weekend I hope to be able to keep working on figuring out WordPress and making some posts. I’m not completely used to it yet, but like my husband likes to remind me.. It will take some time! I need to remember I’ve been on Blogger for years, and that to took some time in the beginning. I’m not very patient with that sort of thing though. 😀

Happy new Year Maureen! Congrats on the switch over- I like the new look.
Hope your new books are good as well. 🙂
Thanks Greg! I’m loving my new blog so far. There’s a lot to get used too though. It now takes a lot more time to prepare posts.. but hopefully in the end it will save me lots of time. We’ll see.
Happy New Year to you too.
Congrats on the move. I moved last year and I can’t be happier. WP rocks. Have a great week ahead.
Thanks Gayanthri. I’m super happy with the move so far.
Happy Reading!
Your blog is looking amazing! I thought a few times about moving to WordPress, but I’m too terrified of doing it – after almost ten years using Blogger, it’s a scary idea.
I hope you can rest in the upcoming two weeks. Enjoy your new books.
Happy New Year!
Tânia @MyLovelySecret
Thanks Tánia. I’m really happy with my blog so far. And I get what you saying! I was terrified about moving my blog! So I was very happy to found someone who offered to help me. I definitely wouldn’t have done it otherwise. 🙂
Have a great week and happy reading!
I would love to move the blog to WordPress someday! It looks great here! Glad to hear you enjoyed The One You Fight For as well. Roni Loren is awesome! 🙂
Thanks Rachel. I’m really happy with WP so far.
Roni Loren is great! Definitely a great author!
Happy reading!
Good luck with WordPress. My two year old has been tossing and turning through the night. We co-sleep and I just wonder if it’s teething or what!
I’ve been thinking our baby girl is teething too since she has all the signs. But it would be pretty early since she is only 22 weeks old. Thankfully last night she slept from 7 till 4.30 again. So that’s much better than having to feed her every three hours for the last two weeks. Good luck with your little one. 😉
Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!
Happy New Year and congrats on the move to wordpress! If you need any help, def feel free to ask me! I’m no expert by any means, but have used it as my platform of choice for a good long while lol.
Hope this week goes smoother than the last! <3
Happy New Year Lulu. That’s so sweet. I’ll definitely keep you in mind. I’ll probably have some questions in the future. 😉
Have a great week and happy reading.
I like the new look for your blog and glad someone reached out to help you make the transition. I’ve been with wordpress for almost 7 years and still learning. LOL Happy New Year!
My Sunday Post
Thank you Laura. So far I’m loving the new blog.
Have a great week and a very Happy new Year to you too. 😉
I applaud you on the move. I didn’t do it the same way, but when I had a couple of Blogger sites, I started one on WP…and then added more. Slowly I moved things over.
Love the new look.
Enjoy your books and your baby. The Sidewalk’s Regrets looks interesting. Thanks for visiting my blog.
Thanks Laurel. I’m loving it so far. It was a little stressful though. LOL!
Have a great week and happy reading!
Happy New Year! I love the new look and am glad the switchover has gone well! I’ve been with Blogger since the beginning and don’t see me changing. I know many people though who have made the switch to WordPress and love it. I hope you will too!
Your new books look good. I hope you enjoy them both. Have a great week, Maureen! Happy Reading.
Happy New Year Wendy. So far I’m loving the move! There’s still a lot I have to figure out though. Maybe it would have been easier if I did the move before my baby girl was born. But I always seem to like complicating things. LOL!!
Have a great week and happy reading!
Congrats on the new design and making the jump! I’m not brave enough to do it, lol.
Fingers crossed your daughter’s sleep pattern settles back down. It’s no fun with working and being up through the night.
Thanks Nicci. I had been thinking about moving to WP for years.. and I just had to do it now. I’m super happy with it so far.
Thankfully baby girl seems to get back into her ‘normal’ sleeping pattern. So.. happy me!! 😀
Have a great week and happy reading!
Good luck with the new platform! I’ve thought about switching to WordPress a million times, but I’ve been happy with Blogger so I’ll stay there for now. I think if WordPress was cheaper, I’d be more apt to switch. Anyway, I hope you love it and you figure everything out. And thanks for stopping by! 🙂
Thanks Tressa. So far WP has been great. It’s a lot to get used too though. But I got some help 😉
If Blogger works good for you, you should definitely stay!
Have a great week and happy reading!
Congrats on the move! Everything looks great. 🙂
Thanks Jennifer. Happy Reading!
I love the new look. I love the leaves, the grays and the easy to read fonts. Enjoy your new reads! Anne – Books of My Heart
