After devouring a lot of Laura Pavlov’s books, and having a new goal this year of finishing series I started, I decided it was time to read ‘Legacy’. ‘Legacy’ is a standalone in the Montgomery Brother series. I read one book in the series in 2021, and now it was time to read the book that started the series.

In ‘Legacy’ we meet Ford and Harley. Ford is the oldest Montgomery brother, and the one that runs Montgomery Media a very successful media company. Ford is not looking for a woman for more than one night. He works hard, is very driven and doesn’t have time for distractions. And he definitely doesn’t trust people easily. So when he meets Harley, a hardworking woman who seems to work just as hard as him he finds himself fascinated by her. Harley is the one woman who doesn’t take his crap. And although she is attracted to him, she definitely isn’t the kind of girl looking for a one night stand.

I really enjoyed reading ‘Legacy’ right from the start. Harley’s character is definitely one I loved right away. She is hardworking, determined to make the best out of her life. And best of all, she really doesn’t take crap from anybody. Especially not from a guy that acts like Ford. I loved how she stood up to Ford, even though most people didn’t. And she definitely made him work for it.

But I also really loved Ford’s character. There was a lot more to him than I expected at first. I loved how we got to read this story from both his point of view and Harley’s. It made the romance even more entertaining and fun. The chemistry between them was definitely flying of the pages and I couldn’t put this book down.

The one little issue that I had with this book was how it just seemed a bit odd for me that Ford changed his mind so ‘easily’ about being with Harley. But that has more to do with me having trust issues myself I guess. It didn’t bother me all that much and I read this one in a day.

‘Legacy’ was a very fun read and I can’t wait to read the second book in the series as well.
