Sparks fly between a PR rep and an A-list actor who want nothing to do with each other.

Leni Steele might be looking for love, but she’s definitely not looking to be someone’s fake date. Especially not one of the most infuriatingly handsome and annoyingly cocky actors on the planet, Duncan Raz. But when the owner of the PR firm for which she works forces her to walk the red carpet on his arm, she has no choice. Neither wants to be there, much less with each other. They’re like oil and water, and he gets on her last nerve. But after a few tequila shots, that’s not all he gets on. What was supposed to be one date turns into a media frenzy they can’t afford to ignore, and Leni has no other option than to continue the ruse. All the fake kisses furtive glances, and seductive touches eventually start to feel very real. But Raz didn’t earn his A-list-actor status for nothing. Is he just doing what he does best? Playing a role? Or is Leni the leading lady in Raz’s real-life love story?

I’ve recently discovered Melissa Foster and I’ve been loving her books. So when I got the opportunity to read and review ‘Wild Island Love’ I was so excited. Although ‘Wild Island Love’ is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. For me it was the first in the series I read.

In ‘Wild Island Love’ we meet Leni Steele. Leni works for her cousins PR business and she really loves her job. Leni works hard and a lot. The last few years she has been disappointed in her relationships, so when she is dating she is all for being practical. The last thing Leni wants is to be the ‘fake’ date for one of Hollywood’s biggest stars Duncan Raz. But when her boss tells her she has too, she can hardly say no.

Raz is arrogant, and determined to break Leni’s walls down. He says he wants to have a good time and make sure the paparazzi is buying their fake relationship, but Leni isn’t sure what to believe anymore. And although she does everything to keep her distance from Raz, she soon learns that keeping Raz away from her heart is harder then she thought. And the chemistry between them is especially hard to resist.

From the moment I started reading ‘Wild Island Love’ I was hooked. I loved the banter between Leni and Raz. It was so fun to read about how Raz slowly broke down Leni’s resistance. They had some amazing chemistry and I loved how everyone could see it. Even when people learned about the relationship being fake, they didn’t believe it because the chemistry was just so obvious.

My favorite character was Raz. Although he was this famous actor, and seemed to be very arrogant at first, there was so much more to his character and I enjoyed getting to know him. He was fun and I loved how smitten he was with Leni. Or was it all an act?

Leni’s character was very tough to get close too. She wasn’t a woman that got overwhelmed by this big Hollywood star. And I loved how she stood up to Raz when necessary. The best part for me was when Leni let her walls down a bit and just started to ‘relax’.

We also read about a lot of other characters in the series, and since I didn’t know the characters before reading this book I enjoyed learning about the Steele family. Since I’m horrible with names, it was a bit hard to keep everyone apart but it still worked. I’d definitely love to read more books in the series though. I think I would have loved this book even more if I already knew their stories as well.

‘Wild Island Love’ was a fun and exciting read that I’d really enjoyed. I can’t wait to read my next Melissa Foster book.
