A desperate single-mom. A dedicated FBI agent. Terrorists who want them both dead.

Single mom Vivi Vincent is thrust into her worst nightmare when she and her eight-year-old son are trapped inside a mall during a terror attack. Jed Brennan, a dedicated FBI agent on enforced leave, helps Vivi and her son survive the assault. But the danger is just beginning...
Vivi’s son may have witnessed critical details of the terrorists’ future plans and is targeted for death, but he’s mute, and he’s traumatized. When someone launches a strike against the FBI’s safe house, Jed fears the bad guys have an inside man. Not knowing who to trust, he hides mother and son in a log cabin deep in the heart of the Wisconsin Northwoods. There Jed and Vivi try to figure out how to unlock the information inside her son’s head.
What they don't bargain for is the red-hot attraction that flares between them or the extent of the sinister plot that threatens to rip apart any chance of happiness they might have together.

After devouring ‘A Cold Dark Place’ by Toni Anderson a few weeks back, I knew I wanted to read more books by this author. So when I saw a paperback of ‘Cold Pursuit’, book two in the series, I knew I had to get my hands on that one. And when my reading schedule was free, I started reading right away.

In ‘Cold Pursuit’ we meet single mom Vivi Vincent. Vivi is with her son visiting a mall, when a terrorist attack takes place. Determined to safe her son Vivi tries to find a way out, while people around her are being killed. FBI agent Jed Brennan, happens to be in the mall as well and he soon saves Vivi and her son. But both Vivi and Jed soon learn that there is more danger ahead of them. Vivi’s son might have seen and heard more about the terrorists, and now he is a target.

‘Cold Pursuit’ is one of those books that grabs your attention right from the start. From the moment I started reading I was hooked to the pages and sitting on the edge of my seat. I just couldn’t put it down. Vivi is stuck in a giant mall while terrorists are randomly killing people around her. I totally got anxious and scared for her and her son while reading this book. Luckily there was Jed Brennan, and right from the start he did everything to make sure they were safe.

The fact that there was also a lot of chemistry between Vivi and Jed, made this a great read in my opinion. There was a lot of suspense, but also some interesting chemistry and I was rooting for them right from the start. This book was written through both Vivi and Jed’s point of view, and I loved reading this story like that. These characters where amazing and I loved getting to know them.

My favorite character was definitely Vivi. She was such a strong mom, she did everything she could to make sure her ‘autistic’ son got everything he deserved in life. I loved how she wasn’t so easily swept of her feet by the handsome FBI agent, and didn’t trust easy.

The suspense in this book was amazing, and the author kept me guessing right till the end. I can’t wait to read more books in this series.
