Today I’m excited to participate in the Release Blitz of ‘The Right Side of Wrong’ by Prescott Lane. This is a Contemporary Romance novel, and it’s out NOW!
After reading the first two books in the Merrick Brothers series by Prescott Lane. I knew this was an author I wanted to read more books from. So when I read the book description of ‘The Right Side of Wrong’ I signed up immediately, and I was super excited to receive an ARC. And as soon as I could, I started reading.
In ‘The Right Side of Wrong’ we read the story of Paige and Slade. These characters are definitely from two totally different worlds. Paige is very poor and has had a horrific life. Slade Is rich, and although he has had something horrible happen to him.. He never had a lot to worry about. Paige is just twenty years old, and Slade is in his thirties. And they meet under some very unusual circumstances. But from the moment Slade looks at Paige, he wants to take care of her and he is determined to make her his.
This was definitely a story I enjoyed right from the start, although I had no idea how this book was going to go. Paige a single mom with no money and past so horrible it makes your skin crawl, and Slade this very rich self-made guy. Two very different characters, but two characters I definitely loved.
There is a lot of baggage between these two characters. And there are a lot of lies between them. But the chemistry between Paige and Slade was wonderful and I loved getting to know them. Paige has this big secret, and throughout the book we get some hints about what it is. I figured it out pretty much half way in, but we find out for real close to the end. But figuring it out early didn’t bother me at all.
This book was definitely fun, but it also had some stuff that I didn’t enjoy as much. Or maybe enjoy isn’t the best word, because I did enjoy this book. But some stuff just didn’t add up I guess. For example at the beginning this book seems to be about two characters with big secrets. But Slade’s secret doesn’t seem to be that big at all, and after he told Paige we don’t read a lot about it again. And some stuff just seemed a little rushed.. for example the way Paige and Slade just seem to love each other right away. For two people who supposedly both have trust issues, this seemed a bit to sudden for me.
But overall I really enjoyed this book and didn’t want to stop reading. It had a Pretty Woman kind of vibe about it which I really enjoyed.
