He's a natural-born protector, a Dark Knights biker, and a hell of a rancher. What happens when he falls for a woman who has no idea who she really is?

When Sullivan Tate escaped from a cult, leaving behind the only life she’d ever known, she thought she’d already endured the most difficult things she’d ever have to deal with. She knew she needed to figure out who she was, but she hadn’t expected to fall for overprotective and sexy-as-hell Callahan “Cowboy” Whiskey along the way. How can she give her heart to a man who has always known exactly who he is, when she’s only just begun figuring that out about herself?

When I was asked to read and review ‘For The Love of Whiskey’ a little while ago, I was so excited. Melissa Foster has been on my TBR for a long time, but somehow I just never got the opportunity to start one of her books. So, being send this one sounded like fate. And as soon as I got the chance I started reading.

In ‘For The Love of Whiskey’ we read the heartbreaking story of Sully and Callahan ‘Cowboy’ Whiskey. Sully has just escaped a horrible situation. For the last two decades, she has been forced to life in a cult. Not being allowed to be who she wants to be, or do what she wants to do. After trying for years, she finally escaped and now she is ready to make a life for herself. But everything about the world outside of the cult is new and very different. Not to mention the people from that cult are still looking for her.

The one thing that makes Sully feel safe, is Callahan a.k.a. Cowboy. Cowboy has always known who and what he was. He is a great rancher, and a member of the Dark Knight Riders. And above all he is the one who tries to safe and help everyone around him. From the moment he meets the scared, but strong Sully, he is determined to help her find her way. He is there for her every step of the way. All he wants is to help her get the life she deserves. Even if that means a life away from him.

Firstly.. Why on earth did it take me so long to read a book by Melissa Foster? I’m an idiot! From the moment I started reading ‘For The Love of Whiskey’ I was completely hooked. This book just pulled me in. Reading Sully’s story was heartbreaking, and beautiful at the same time. And I loved everything about her character. She was just so damn tough!

But the best part was definitely the relationship between Sully and Cowboy. From the moment they meet there is this connection between them. They both feel it right away and it was really intense to read. I loved how they fitted so well with each other. Sully learned to make a new and better life for herself. And Cowboy helped her every step of the way. I loved the slow-burn romance between them, and when they finally acted on their feelings.. Phew!!

The setting on the Redemption Ranch was wonderful. I’ve always loved horses, and life on a ranch always held a certain charm for me. Reading about this Ranch, and the wonderful family and people living on it was just so fun. The side characters made me want to read every other book by Melissa Foster out there.

‘For The Love of Whiskey’ was a wonderful, touching, romantic read that hooked me from start to finish. And I can’t wait to read more books by this author.
