In the mysterious world of Harmony, there are places filled with unexplored marvels. But Rainshadow Island isn’t about to give up its secrets….

In the alien catacombs of Rainshadow, there are creatures whose compelling
songs lure the unwary to their death. That’s why Rafe Coppersmith, hired to
clear out the catacombs for exploration, needs a music talent. He knows the
perfect one, but she probably doesn’t want anything do with him . . .

Ella Morgan had once fallen hard and fast for Rafe, but then he disappeared for
months and he’s not about to tell her why. Ella, too, has secrets that only her
dust bunny knows. She’s not just a music talent, she’s a Siren: a paranormal
singer capable of singing men to sleep – or to their deaths.

But once on Rainshadow, Rafe and Ella will learn that surrendering to passion
doesn’t come without risks – and fighting fire with fire only adds to the flame
. . .

My Review:

When I received ‘Siren’s Call’ by Jayne Castle, a.k.a.
Jayne Ann Krentz, I was super excited. I really enjoy Jayne’s writing. I love
her contemporary novels written as Jayne Ann Krentz, I love her historical
novels as Amanda Quick and I love her futuristic novels as Jayne Castle. I just
love every genre Jayne writes. So I couldn’t wait to start reading this book.
‘Siren’s Call’ is the fourth book in the Rainshadow
series and tells the story of Ella Morgan. Ella’s whole life has been centered
about lies. Nobody outside Ella’s family can know what she really is, a Siren:
a paranormal singer capable of singing men to sleep or to their deaths. But
when Rafe Coppersmith finds out about Ella’s ‘gift’, he doesn’t respond the way
Ella thought he would. Instead of running away, he offers her a job. And soon
Ella and Rafe can’t deny there’s more to their feelings then only a
professional relationship.
The reason why I really like all books by Jayne Castle
a.k.a. Jayne Ann Krentz, is the way they are all easy to follow and from the
very first page very addictive. Somehow I always want to keep on reading when I
start one of her books. ‘Siren’s Call’ is no acceptation. From the very first
page I was hooked. The book immediately begins with an action scene and the
main characters are introduced with a bang. I love this.
The main character Ella Morgan, is strong and independent
and has learned the hard way that she can’t share her real identity with other
people. This not only made her live her life filled with lies, but it also
thought her that her ‘gift’ was somehow wrong. When she meets Rafe, she slowly
learns that her ‘gift’ isn’t so bad at all.
Rafe Coppersmith is definitely a fun character to read
about. Tough on the outside but so sweet when you get to know him. I especially
loved the way he showed his true feelings to Ella.
The chemistry between Ella and Rafe is sweet and very fun
to read. I loved how these two characters interacted with each other. They were
both immediately aware of the chemistry they shared, but they didn’t give in
that easy.
The mystery and action in this book is fun, and although
it felt as a ‘side’ part of this book it was good enough to keep me interested
till the very end.
‘Siren’s Call’ is a perfect book to read when you don’t
have the time for a big reading commitment. It’s easy to read, not very
complicated and it has a nice paranormal storyline. And above all there are
dust bunnies!! Before my first book by Jayne Castle, I didn’t even know what a
dust bunny was.. but now I’m hooked.  I
want one!!
