GoodreadsI should know better than to let Tessa McDaniels pretend to be my fiancée.I’m a dark, dangerous disaster who leaves destruction in his wake. But when she offers to pretend to marry me to help me get my kids back, I can’t refuse. They are the one thing I have left to fight for.
Milo Hendricks found me at my lowest.Battered and broken by my ex with no place to call home. When he insists I stay at his cabin with him, he sparks the feelings I’ve tried to suppress. He’s only supposed to be my friend, but every time he comes in the room, he makes my knees weak. This gorgeous, tatted, mountain-of-a-man who’s riddled with secrets.
Tessa is everything I crave but can’t have.I shouldn’t touch her.Shouldn’t make it real.But she’s a red-headed flame I can’t resist, and I can’t help but take her to my bed.
Now we’re falling into an abyss of passion and need.Loving her is easy.Only we’re tied in ways we don’t know.I’ll do anything to protect her, but it’s my past that might destroy her in the end…
A.L. Jackson is one of those authors I just seem to love every single thing she writes from. So when book four in the Redemption Hills series arrived on my kindle I was so excited and started reading as soon as possible.
In ‘Promise Me Always’ we finally get to read the story of Tessa. Tessa is a character we got to read about in the previous books in the series. She is fun, flirty and just overall really awesome. But she has a horrible boyfriend who no one seems to like and no one seems to understand why Tessa stays with him. But Tessa has her reasons.
And then there is Milo. Milo is this enormous, silent, mysterious guy who honestly has had a horrible few years. Tessa and Milo are two people that you just wish they’d end up together right from the start. From the moment they met, Milo has been mesmerized with Tessa. All he wants to do is to keep her safe. And that definitely means he has to stay away from her.
Although every book in this series is a standalone, we got to read a little bit about Tessa and Milo before. And I just knew this book about them would be epic. And it really was. The chemistry between them was amazing. I couldn’t get enough of these two. Tessa and Milo are perfect for each other, and everyone around them has always known there was a lot more between them than just friendship. Even though they never acted on it.
Next to an incredible romance, I also loved reading about Milo’s past. Which definitely gave us some suspense as well. From start till finish ‘Promise Me Always’ kept me sitting on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t put it down.
What I also really enjoyed where the moment between and her girlfriends. We got to know those other woman in the previous books, and I loved how I got to read a little how they where doing through this read. I’m sure you wouldn’t miss any info if you’d read this one as a standalone, but I loved already knowing their stories.
‘Promise Me Always’ definitely was 5 star read for me.
