My Review:

Before I started reading ‘Fighting To Be Free’ I’ve heard
a lot about this read. This book was supposed to be amazing, and really addicting.
So when I received a copy of this beautiful looking book, I was super excited
to start reading. But I was also a little scared, because most times when I
have high expectations of a book I feel a little disappointed at the end.
‘Fighting To Be Free’ is the story of Jamie ‘Kid’ Cole.
Jamie has just spend four of his years in jail. Now he is finally free, and he
is determined to make a better life for himself. No more illegal jobs, no
contact with his evil mother and just an honest life. But this is easier said than
done.
When Jamie meets Ellie Pearce, he is instantly attracted
to the beautiful redheaded girl. But Ellie is totally out of his league. But
somehow Ellie sees good in Jamie. And soon Jamie and Ellie spend every day
together.
To be honest, I didn’t really like this book as much as I
thought I would the first couple of pages. I didn’t really like the way Jamie
and Ellie met, and I couldn’t feel a connection between them. I honestly
wondered why this book was said to be so good. Don’t get me wrong, this book
was fun from the very beginning, but nothing very special to me.
But I kept on reading, and after the first few chapters I
totally fell in love with Jamie and Ellie’s story. It really took me a while,
but slowly on I could understand where a the fuss was about. ‘Fighting To Be
Free’ is a beautiful and touching story. I found myself intrigued with the
characters and I was above all sad for Jamie. If Jamie didn’t have such a terrible
mother, his life would have been so different.
The romance between Jamie and Ellie took some getting
used to, but in the end I was totally rooting for those two. I loved reading
about the bond these two had. Their lives were totally different but somehow
they made it work. And there were many sweet moments between Jamie and Ellie.
There were also a view moments in this book were I
expected the story to go one way, but it went totally the other way. The author
really did a great job with writing these little twists. Not many romance
novels have this and I was pleasantly surprised by it.
Although it took me a little while longer than most
people to really fall in love with the book, in the end I really did. I can’t
wait to read more about Jamie and Ellie and I really recommend this book.
