After reading Highland Games by Evie Alexander a little while back, I knew I wanted to read more books by her. So when I got the opportunity to sign up for an ARC of ‘Cupid Calamity’, a collection of two novellas. Not only did it give me another read by Evie Alexander, but I also got to read a novella by author Kelly Kay, of which I hadn’t read a book by before. Perfect! And it sure was fun.

First we read ‘Animal Attraction’ by Evie Alexander, a fun novella about Laurie and Ben. They have this instant chemistry that was definitely flying of the pages and I simple loved them. Laurie is this hardworking woman, who just doesn’t get enough recognition for what she does. And Ben just bought a new company. Right after they meet, disaster happens and soon Ben has to show his ‘hero’ skills.

‘Animal Attraction’ was definitely a very fun novella. I loved the two main characters, and although I could have easily read more about these two, it was a perfect short story. It also felt like I knew this characters for a lot longer than I actually did.

The second novella, ‘Stupid Cupid’ by Kelly Kay was a perfection introduction to a new to me author. And I’d definitely love to read more by her someday.

‘Stupid Cupid’ is a short story about Sabrina and Patrick. They both are on a blind-date, but when their eyes meet across the room they both decide to ditch there dates and go on there own date. Unfortunately their date is an absolute disaster. Everything goes wrong. Seriously everything! And it was hilarious and just another perfect novella.

If you’re looking for a fun Valentine read, I’d definitely recommend this one.
