From the New Adult sensation and internationally
bestselling author of ‘Bully’ and ‘Until You’.

Madoc and Fallon. Two estranged teenagers playing games that push the
boundaries between love and war . . .

She’s back.

For the three years she’s been away at boarding school, there was no word from
her. Back when we lived in the same house, she used to cut me down during the
day and then leave her door open for me at night.

I was stupid then, but now I’m ready to beat her at her own game . . .

I’m back.

Three years and I can tell he still wants me, even if he acts like he’s better
than me.

But I won’t be scared away. Or pushed down. I’ll call his bluff and fight back.
That’s what he wants, right? As long as I keep my guard up, he’ll never know
how much he affects me . . .

About the Series:

‘Rival’
is the third book in the Fall Away Series by Penelope Douglas. The Fall Away
Series is a New Adult Series and the first two books were a huge hit. ‘Rival’
can be read as a standalone. The first book ‘Bully’ came out in February, the
companion book ‘Until You’ followed shortly after and ‘Rival’ is being
published on  August 26th.

My Review:

A couple
of weeks ago I received the e-book of ‘Rival’ by Penelope Douglas through the
‘Little Brown Book Group’ in exchange for an honest review. From the moment I
read the description I just knew I would love this book. The ‘Fall Away’
series is supposes to be an amazing series but somehow I hadn’t read the first
two books. Even though this book is part of a series, it’s about different
characters than the first ones so you can definitely read it without having read
the first two.
In
‘Rival’ we meet Fallon and Madoc. Fallon is an 18 year old girl who learned
early on that not all people are good. Her mom and dad are divorced and her mom
married for the third time to a rich and wealthy guy, who happens to be Madoc’s
dad. Fallon is this skater girl who doesn’t care what people think of her, and
Madoc is this handsome rich kid who gets everything he wants. Although it seems
that Madoc and Fallon don’t like each other, they have one big secret. That
secret made Fallon leave the house when she was 16 year old. But now, almost
two years later, Fallon is back and Madoc is pissed as hell.
From the
very first page I really loved this story. I loved the way Penelope Douglas
wrote the story and how this book pulled you in immediately. Especially in the
first pages, there is a lot of mystery. Fallon and Madoc hate each other but
somehow you just know that there is something you don’t know as a reader. I
loved how I slowly came to understand the story of Fallon and Madoc. Nothing is
the way is seems and it just made it really enjoyable for me.
When the story continued the chemistry was also
growing and I seriously just fell in love with the characters of this book.
There was a lot of chemistry, romance and a lot of sexy parts in this book.
More than I would have guessed in the beginning. I loved Fallon and Madoc and I
couldn’t get enough.
The character I loved the most in this book was
Madoc. I loved how his character seemed to be very arrogant and angry, but
slowly turned into a hurt and loving and sexy guy. Even though Fallon didn’t
know it, Madoc always protected her. And I just loved him.
‘Rival’ is definitely going on my favorite
list. This book was just so amazing and addicting. I definitely will be
checking the first books in this series out.
