After devouring the previous four books in the Adair Family series, I was so excited to finally read Brodan and Monroe’s story. I could just feel this book was going to be epic! Although this book is part of a series, and I enjoyed reading it in order, you can read it as a standalone. For the best experience I would read it in order though. And trust me.. this is not a hardship.

Brodan and Monroe grew up as best friends. They were simple inseparable. But how older they got, the more feelings Monroe started to have for her best friend. And she kept hoping that one day Brodan would feel the same. Brodan was always there for her. While her parents didn’t seem to care for her at all, Brodan was her rock. But then one night changed everything and Monroe left town.

Brodan returns to the small town of Ardnoch in the Scottish Highlands almost eighteen years later, now a big Hollywood actor. But Brodan needs a break from the fame. And he sure didn’t expect to see that Monroe has also moved back. When Brodan and Monroe meet again after all those years a lot of emotions come rushing back. But there friendship seems to be unrepairable.

Samantha Young has been one of my favorite authors for a while now, and I’ve loved every single book in the Adair Family series. But ‘Only You’ definitely was a new high. I loved every single page of this book and devoured it in a single evening. Brodan and Monroe grew up together and there is a lot of hurt between them. In ‘Only You’ we read moments from their past, and their present and it made me feel like I’ve known these characters forever. And boy did I cry my eyes out.

Yes, I honestly cried while reading this book. I just loved these characters so much, and I was just hurting so much for them. The romance and chemistry between Brodan and Monroe was amazing. It was sexy, but also just so swoon-worthy. This book gave me all the right feelings. Add a bit of suspense and you have a perfect book in my eyes.

We also got some little snit bits about characters in Samantha’s new series that is coming in a few months, and I honestly can’t wait. The epilogue gave us some much needed treat from the characters in the previous books as well. So I’m one happy lady.

‘Only You’ is going on my favorite list of 2023 for sure. Bravo Samantha. Now I’m going so save up so I can get these beauties in paperback.
