Freed from the golden clutches of the Sun King, Lor now finds herself in the hands of Nadir, the Aurora Prince. Convinced she’s hiding something, he’s willing to do whatever it takes to make her talk. But Lor knows the value of secrets—she’s been keeping them her entire life—and she’s not letting hers go without a fight.

When Lor and Nadir team up to search for a lost item that holds the key to her past and her future, she isn’t sure she can trust him. All she knows is she won’t fall for another royal fae’s promises again.

With the Sun King determined to reclaim her, Lor must keep on the move, but nowhere is safe. Not until she destroys him and the Aurora King. But she soon learns that the future of Ouranos depends on much more than avenging her shattered legacy.

After reading the first book in the Artefacts of Ouranos series in December, I was completely hooked and wanted to read more as soon as I could. Luckily I received both the first and second book by Orbit UK in exchange for my review, so when I had some time I dived right in.

First of all, I loved how easily I was pulled back into this series right from the very first page. Most times it takes me a few chapters to really get back into the story. Well, not with this book. Right from the beginning I was hooked and couldn’t put it down again. This story starts right where the first book ended. Lor has been taken from her imprisonment at the Sun King’s palace, right into another imprisonment. This time Nadir, the Aurora Prince has taken her. The only difference is, he seems to be on the same side as her. The only thing Nadir wants is for Lor to tell him her secrets. But this is something Lor is definitely not comfortable with. But when Nadir gives her the one thing she asked for, she figures it is time to share some secrets.

Soon after Nadir and Lor team up to find a artifact that has been missing for decades. This artifact might be the one thing that can help both Nadir and Lor. The more time Nadir and Lor spend together, the harder it becomes to keep the magic and feelings between them apart. But after Lor’s time at the Sun King’s palace, she is determined to keep every male Fae at a distance. No matter how charming, or how kind they seem to be. Not to mention there is a lot more going on around Nadir and Lor. Who has time for complicated feelings? The Aurora King still seems to be looking for Lor. And it keeps getting harder and harder to keep hidden.

‘Rule of the Aurora King’ was an amazing read. I devoured every page right from the start and I just couldn’t put it down. This book had the perfect combination of suspense, fantasy and romance and I just didn’t want it to end. I loved learning more about Lor and her family’s history and I loved getting to know Nadir. Nadir is definitely one enchanting prince.

The romance was amazing. A sizzling slow-burn with some curl toeing moments. I loved it! And I also loved getting to know some of the side characters in this series. Will there be a story there as well? This book gave me some answers, made me question more and above all kept me entertained and fascinated!

Ow how I wished it was June already. In June the third book will come out and I’ll definitely be adding that one to my TBR!! If you haven’t started this series yet, trust me.. go start right away!
