After reading the second and third book in the Chikalu Falls series, and loving them, I really wanted to read the book that started it all! especially after already reading bits and pieces about Joanna and Lincoln in the other books. I was super curious about them. And when I had time in my reading schedule I dived right in. And boy did I enjoy this book!
The Beginning:
From the moment I started reading the story of Joanna and Lincoln I was hooked. Lincoln has been a Marine for years. The thing that kept him going where the letters he received from a girl named Joanna. Now years later, he really wants to meet this girl. But no one knows who the girl is and he looked for a long time. But then he meets the girl his brother really likes, Jo.
From the moment Joanna and Lincoln meet the chemistry between them was flying of the pages. I loved everything about these two and I couldn’t put this book down. Joanna and Lincoln seem perfect for each other, but Lincoln has a lot of baggage from his days in the Marine. And then there is his brother that seems to love Jo as well.
The Middle
Although Lincoln is determined not to let Joanne come to close, he definitely can’t seem to stay away from her either. Reading about this struggles was definitely heart-breaking at times.
I honestly can’t pick one favorite character in this book. I loved both Joanna and Lincoln just so much. I loved how strong, determined and funny Joanna was. She might have worked in a field run by men, but she could handle herself easily. And Lincoln, was just really swoon worthy. A Marine, and crazy about this girl he never met.. and when he did meet Joanna he was just a goner. I loved reading his thoughts.
The End:
This book also ended in such a perfect way. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better ending. And that is definitely rare. I’m so excited I finally know the story of Joanna and Lincoln, and I definitely recommend this series.
Lena Hendrix is an author I’ll be keeping an eye out for. ‘Finding You’ was a great, romantic, swoon worthy read I loved from start till finish.
