GhostWalker Wyatt Fontenot knows the price he paid for
the secret military experiments that gave him his special catlike abilities.
After all, he left his home a healer and came back a killer. While Wyatt and
his GhostWalker brother Gator may have known exactly the sort of game they were
getting into, Wyatt never anticipated where it would lead – or to whom.

The swamps hold many mysteries, but few are as sinuously seductive as Le Poivre
de Cayenne. The woman the locals call Pepper is every bit as enigmatic as the
three little girls she’s desperately trying to protect. From what, Wyatt is
soon to discover. Right now Pepper needs a man like Wyatt. Passionately. But
her secrets are about to take them both deeper into the bayou than either
imagined-where desire is the deadliest poison of all.

My Review:

A couple of weeks ago I received ‘Viper Game’ from the
Little Brown Book, Group in exchange for my honest review. Last year I read
‘Dark Blood’ by Christine Feehan, although I really enjoyed that book, I felt
like I had to have read more books in the series to fully understand and love
that book.
But I really did enjoy her writing and I felt curious to
her other books. So when I received ‘Viper Game’ I felt really excited. ‘Viper
Game’ is the 11th book in the GhostWalkers series, and even though I
haven’t read any of the previous book, I couldn’t wait to start reading.
In ‘Viper Game’ we meet GhostWalker Wyatt Fontenot. Wyatt
has undergone secret military experiments that gave him special cat-like
abilities. Together with other GhostWalkers Wyatt decides to come home to his
grandmother, after she called him for help. Wyatt and his brothers grew up with
his grandmother in the bayou and Wyatt has missed his home. But Wyatt is up for
a huge surprise when he meets the seductive and beautiful Pepper. Pepper also
has her secrets and her job is to protect three little girls from an evil man.
But from the moment Wyatt and Pepper meet they are linked together and they
soon find out that they have an amazing and incredible bond.
In the beginning of this book I felt many different
things. I loved the setting in the Bayou and the swamps, I
loved the characters Wyatt and Pepper, I loved the bond Wyatt has with his
friends and grandmother but I didn’t really enjoy the relationship between
Wyatt and Pepper. It just felt a little off for me, since they met and very
shortly after they decided (or at least Wyatt did) to never be apart from each
other ever again. It happened so fast and I just didn’t really feel that
connection. But I kept reading because I was definitely curious about what
would happen next.
Thankfully I felt myself enjoying the relationship
between Wyatt and Pepper more and more. And in the end I really liked there
connection and their love for each other.
The main characters Wyatt and Pepper are definitely
strange and at times a little difficult. Wyatt is handsome and can be very
sweet but he is also very dominant, jealous and at times vicious. This guy
really made me angry when he was acting all dominant and told Pepper what to
do. But I did understand that was just the way his cat abilities and his
character worked. Still it bothered me at times.
Pepper is beautiful and seductive and she is able to make
every man go down on his knees. But the thing is, Pepper doesn’t want that
‘gift’, she hates it and tries hard to escape her faults. The thing about
Pepper was that she changes her mind just a lot of times. In the end I just
wanted to yell ‘NO NOT AGAIN!!”.
The character I definitely love the most in this book was
Wyatt’s grandmother Nonny. I could totally imagine her being a real person. I
loved how she was the oldest, and smallest of the group but she definitely was
the toughest. Everybody respected her and I loved that.
This book was definitely a nice one. I enjoyed reading it
and even though I didn’t love everything, I still couldn’t stop reading. At
times the ‘sexy’ parts took a little to long for my taste, but they were
definitely enjoyable. This book wasn’t only romantic, and sexy, there was also
a lot of action, fighting and thrilling moments. I can’t wait to the next
Christine Feehan book, she’s definitely able to surprise you.

‘I am a mother, first and foremost
in my life. Family is very important to me. I have several children all

are even worse. LOL! I love living in the country and I find that it
continues to inspire my writing.. which is my ultimate passion in life.

am a writer and have been almost my entire life. I have to write every
day or I’ll drive my family crazy. I first became a published author in
1999 with the release of Dark Prince. Before that I had a wide variety
of jobs including being a full time mom, a martial arts instructor, a
telephone operator, and I even worked for a newspaper. Now I’m able to
write full time. I usually have four new books released per year.’
