Emily McCarthy is living in fear of a dark and dangerous
past. A gifted mathematician, she is little more than a hollow, broken shell,
trying desperately to make ends meet long enough to finish her degree.
Through an unlikely friendship with the aging, cantankerous owner of an old
boxing gym, Em is thrown into the path of the most dangerous man that she has
ever met.
Cormac “the Hurricane” O’Connell is cut, tattooed and dangerous. He is a lethal
weapon with no safety and everyone is waiting for the mis-fire. He’s never been
knocked out before, but when he meet Em he falls, HARD. Unlike any other girl
he’s ever met, she doesn’t want anything from him, but just being around her
makes him want to be a better person.
They are polar opposites who were never meant to find each other, but some
things are just worth the fight.

My Review:
I was immediately super excited to start reading this book. It sounded like
such a fun read, and after reading a view sci fi novels I was even more looking
forward to reading a Contemporary Romance novel.
O’Connell. Emily and Cormac are opposites in everything. But from the first
moment Cormac sees shy Emily, he knows he must become a better person and get
to know her. And Cormac will do almost everything.
desperately needs to stay hidden. For that to happen Emily must be invisible,
and that’s something she’s very good at. But when Cormac starts to show
interest she can’t deny the chemistry between them. And let me tell you.. That
chemistry is flying of the pages!!
Emily and Cormac are both easy to love. They both had a rough life and all they
want is to have a family of their own and to find someone they love. Emily and
Cormac didn’t expect to find love, but from the moment they first interact it’s
clear there are meant for each other. Although life still isn’t easy for them,
they fight for a better life and make their own family.
Emily and Cormac first became friends. And it was extremely, butterflies- in-
your- belly- romantic to read how Cormac fought to win Emily’s heart.
this book. It was such a touching story and I couldn’t get enough of it. Although
the romance between Emily and Cormac, was the most important part of this book,
I also loved getting to know Cormac’s friends. Cormac’s friends are all boxers
and very handsome. They are also all very different and from the moment Cormac
lays his eyes upon Emily, his friends, also protect Emily. It was really
touching to read.
Hurricane’ I became to love the fight and Cormac’s ‘boxing’ family. R.J. Prescott
was able to write these intense boxing games. I really would be biting my
nails, because it was just so thrilling.
devouring. I definitely recommend this one if you like contemporary romance
novels.

About the Author:
studied law at the University of Bristol, England. Four weeks before graduation
she fell in love with a crazy firefighter and stayed in Bristol. Ten years
later she convinced her husband to move back to Cardiff, where they now live
with their two sons. Juggling work, writing and family doesn’t leave a lot of
time, but curling up on the sofa with a cup of tea and a bar of chocolate for
family movie night is definitely the best part of her week. Her debut book
“The Hurricane” is a USA Today Bestselling duet novel concluded in
“The Aftermath”.
