In a city where image is everything, Gabriella turns heads for all the wrong reasons. The marks that slash across her neck and face turn people away. But I see the beauty that lies beneath, feel a kinship to her pain. I regret the way she found me—mugged and left for dead. I should walk away, follow the rules, but I can’t. I want to see her again. There’s only one problem. My brother convinced her I’m gay. I use that lie to my advantage, persuade her to be my pretend girlfriend, to help protect my fake-sexual identity from my judgmental family. But what starts as a shameless excuse to be near her leads to crossed lines and midnight confessions. I’m not who I led her to believe. I’m sin wrapped in silk. Betrayal masked by beauty. And she’s not the only one with scars…

After reading ‘Wild North’ in May, and absolutely loving it, I knew the North Brothers series would be a series I needed to keep my eyes on. So when the sign up for ‘Rebel North’, book two came online, I signed up as soon as possible. And boy was I excited to start reading this one!

In ‘Rebel North’ we read the story of Kingston North. Kingston has always been rich and handsome. He never had to work for something in his life. But he has some very bad secrets that keep he awake at night. When he meets Gabriella all he can see is her beauty. But many people only see scars on Gabriella’s face. From the moment Kingston and Gabriella meet there is something between them. Unfortunately Gabby things Kingston is gay.

What I really love about the characters in this series, is that they aren’t like any of the characters I read about in other books. They all have something that makes them a bit different. And I absolutely love them!

Kingston is not an average guy. He loves fashion, and wears clothes that really stand out. He also owns a lot of eyeliner. He definitely wasn’t a character I normally would think was very attractive. But there is something about this guy that made me love him right from the start. And above all I love how this handsome, at times arrogant guy got all messed up when he was around Gabriella. He totally became a stuttering and stumbling mess and it was just so swoon worthy.

Gabriella’s character was very mysterious. I loved reading about her, and there were a lot of things we didn’t know about her. Where did she come from? What happened to her face to leave her so scarred? It took some time to get to know her character.

The chemistry between Kingston and Gabriella was amazing. And I loved their story and their connection. Gabriella thinking Kingston was gay also made for some very funny moments. And when I though I had it all figured out and this was ‘just’ a 4 star read.. A major twist happened and I loved this book even more. Ow men.. I didn’t see it coming at all! And this book definitely became a 5 star read after that one.

‘Rebel North’ was another great read I couldn’t put down. I definitely can’t wait to read more about the other North brothers.
