Things are about to get Wicked in New Orleans. Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart. Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her. But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.

I’ve been wanting to read ‘Wicked’ for a few years now. Somehow I just never got to it. I’ve been loving Jennifer’s books for some time now, and ever since I saw that ‘Wicked’ was being made into a movie, I was determined to start reading this book soon. Well, I finally got to it.

In ‘Wicked’ we meet twenty two year old Ivy. Ivy is kind of a loner ever since she lost her adoptive parents and boyfriend a few years ago. After already having lost her birth parents many years ago, Ivy simple cannot lose any more people. So she does her job of killing Fae at night, and she goes to college during the day. Ivy lost everything to the Fae, so killing them is definitely something she loves. One day  Ivy meets Ren, a very handsome fellow Fae hunter who transferred to New Orleans. And Ren is determined to break through Ivy’s walls and make her his.

‘Wicked’ was from the start at book I really enjoyed. I enjoyed getting to know the two main characters Ivy and Ren. And their chemistry was definitely flying of the pages. I loved how Ren started crumbling those walls Ivy put up right from the start. And who could blame Ivy?! Ren was definitely my favorite character of this book. Charming, funny, handsome, smart, brave and hardworking.. what’s not to love about him?!

Ivy’s little friend Tink was also one of the things I loved most about this book. He was just so damn funny. And I loved how he was a Harry Potter fan, and we got to read some very funny Harry Potter anecdotes.

To be honest, it took me a little while to understand the world that Wicked was set in. Those Fae and the Order.. The fact that I loved the characters and their chemistry so much made me love this book, but the Fae confused me a little. Luckily everything started working for me more and more the further I got in the book and in the end I was hooked.

‘Wicked’ was definitely a fun, romantic and exciting read that makes me want for more. And since the end of this book is kind of a cliffhanger, I really have to read the next book in this trilogy fast.
