You don’t really know a guy until you’ve vacationed with him…
When Drew Wilson’s ex-boyfriend Joel “Six” Bailey asks her to go on his family trip to Hawaii with him just as her life is falling apart, she decides it's the perfect time to give him another chance.
The hitch? The Bailey family includes Six’s rude older brother, Joshua—a hot-nerd doctor who has hated Drew since the moment they met and once suggested she’d steal the family silver.
Drew is determined to win the Baileys over and give this thing with Six a fair shot…but Joshua is making that difficult. Not simply because he is in her way at every turn, but because—as one tropical adventure leads to the next—she’s beginning to wonder if obnoxious, odious Joshua might be the brother she actually belongs with.

After reading ‘A Deal With the Devil’ last year, I knew I wanted to read more books by this author. So when I saw the sign up for this book, I didn’t hesitate one moment and signed up immediately. Especially when I saw that this book was about Drew Wilson, the girl we read a glimpse of in the previous books. There just was something about her I loved, and I started reading this one as soon as possible.

The Beginning

This book starts when Drew and Joshua meet again on a family trip. Drew is supposedly Joshua’s brothers girlfriend, but things are definitely not the way they seem. Drew and Joshua already know each other, and have apparently disliked each other right from the day they met. It took me a moment to really get their ‘relationship’, but soon I couldn’t get enough of these two and was laughing like crazy while reading there banters. Really.. this book was just hilarious at times.

The Middle

What I love the most about this book was the fact that it didn’t end right after the two main characters reconnect. This book felt like it was longer, not nearly long enough though, and I really felt like I went on a journey with these two characters. And yes it was to get to know Drew and Joshua. But is was also a bit heartbreaking at times. Drew’s characters seemed a bit shallow in the beginning. But slowly we get to know her better and better, and I was really rooting for her.

The romance between Drew and Joshua is definitely a slow-burn one. And boy did the anticipation almost kill me. I just couldn’t get enough of these two characters. They are both totally different people. And they definitely have everything working against them.. But their chemistry was flying of these pages. And next to their hilarious banters, it made this read downright amazing.

The End

Right when I started to wonder how things could ever work out, they do. But definitely not the way I expected. And I loved it. I could have definitely read more about these characters, but it sure was a great read.

‘The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea’ definitely was a five star read for me. Easily!! And I can’t wait to read about the Lawyer Ben where we keep reading about. I mean.. he has to get a book of his own right?
