He might not be the devil, but working under him for six weeks is my idea of hell. Hayes Flynn is an arrogant jerk known best for his scotch habit and the way he spreads his British “charm” all over Hollywood, never with the same woman twice. He’s the last person I want to work for, except he has a face I can’t look away from, and the longer we’re together, the harder he is to hate. Because under that smug exterior is a heart he doesn’t want to show—one that was badly broken a decade earlier. A part of me wants to fix it for him before I leave…but can I do it without breaking my own in the process?

When I read the book description of ‘A Deal With The Devil’ a little while ago, I knew this was a book I wanted to read. It just sounded like such a fun book since I love employer-employee romance stories. So when I received an ARC of this book I was just so damn excited and started reading immediately.

In ‘A Deal With The Devil’ we read the story of Tali and Hayes. Tali is struggling for money ever since she started paying the bills for her little sisters treatment. So when she gets offered a job, working as an assistant to plastic surgeon, and playboy Hayes Flynn she simple can’t say no. Even though everything about his lifestyle offends Tali, it will only be for six weeks and she will make lots of money. At first Tali sees Hayes is definitely a womanizer and not someone you can count on. But there is something more about Hayes.

Funny enough, I didn’t see myself loving this book during the first few pages. Sure it was fun, but I didn’t think it would be more than fun. Well.. wow.. I was wrong. After reading the first few pages I realized I was loving this book more and more, and soon I was completely hooked and couldn’t put it down. I definitely thought I figured this book out after only a few more pages. But I was so wrong.

There is so much more about these two main characters than you’d guess in the beginning. Tali is an aspiring writer who is trying to take care of her family, while also getting over the betrayal of her ex-boyfriend and best friend. She works for every penny she gets, and lives on only the basics to make sure her family will be okay.

Hayes Flynn is a very successful plastic surgeon who makes sure he works every minute of everyday just to make sure he doesn’t have to do feelings and be kind to people. He only sees woman who know he can only give them one night, and he rarely does something just for fun. And yes, there is definitely a reason for the way he is. And I loved how we slowly reveal his real character more and more with every page we read in this book.

‘A Deal With The Devil’ is definitely a slow burn romance and I loved everything about it. I read this book in only one day, and simple didn’t want it to end. I seriously read the last chapter three times already because I’m just not ready yet to let go of Tali and Hayes. Their story was so fun, romantic and touching and this one is definitely going on my favorite list.

And now I’ll have to update my TBR with more books by Elizabeth O’Roark. This book is definitely getting a recommendation by me.
