A heartwarming and refreshing debut novel that proves one thing: there's not enough data in the world to predict what will make your heart tick. Stella Lane thinks math is the only thing that unites the universe. She comes up with algorithms to predict customer purchases — a job that has given her more money than she knows what to do with, and way less experience in the dating department than the average thirty-year-old. It doesn't help that Stella has Asperger's and French kissing reminds her of a shark getting its teeth cleaned by pilot fish. Her conclusion: she needs lots of practice — with a professional. Which is why she hires escort Michael Phan. The Vietnamese and Swedish stunner can't afford to turn down Stella's offer, and agrees to help her check off all the boxes on her lesson plan — from foreplay to more-than-missionary position... Before long, Stella not only learns to appreciate his kisses, but to crave all the other things he's making her feel. Soon, their no-nonsense partnership starts making a strange kind of sense. And the pattern that emerges will convince Stella that love is the best kind of logic...

After I read several great and raving reviews about ‘The Kiss Quotient’ I knew this was a book I wanted to read. Especially when I read about the main character having autism. As a nurse this is something that really interests me. And I also always enjoy books that are just a little different and this book just sounded different and great.

In ‘The Kiss Quotient’ we meet Stella. Stella always had trouble connecting with people. She is brutally honest and can’t handle a lot of noise and people. So when yet another date  goes terrible wrong and sex still is horrible for her, Stella decides to hire an escort to help her get ‘better’. But from the moment Stella meets Michael she finds herself liking him more and more. But is any of it real? Or is he just kind to her because of her money?

I was right in the middle of a move when I started reading this book, and I couldn’t find a lot of free time to start reading.. but right from the moment I started I just couldn’t stop. This book was just so good I read every free moment I could find and I found myself reading till late at night, when I really should have been sleeping.

The two main characters Stella and Michael were both super interesting and fun to get to know. Stella has autism and has trouble socializing. And although she is perhaps a little different, I loved her character. She was just so honest and real and I really think she is one of my all-time favorite book characters. All Stella wanted was to find someone, and not be so lonely. And yes, she did something a little different but I admired the way she went after something she wanted.

And Michael’s character also was just so fun. I loved him. Yes, he worked as an escort. But there was so much more about him then he showed at first. And I loved getting to know him. And the romance between Stella and Michael was so swoon-worthy and romantic, I couldn’t get enough of these too together.

There honestly wasn’t one thing about this read that I didn’t like. And even though I read so many amazing reviews, I still couldn’t imagine how amazing this book really would be. Helen Hoang definitely did a great job and I can’t wait to read more books by her.

Helen Hoang is that shy person who never talks. Until she does. And the worst things fly out of her mouth. She read her first romance novel in eighth grade and has been addicted ever since. In 2016, she was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in line with what was previously known as Asperger’s Syndrome. Her journey inspired THE KISS QUOTIENT. She currently lives in San Diego, California with her husband, two kids, and pet fish. For more information about Helen please visit her website. Or visit her on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
