Sometimes,
we just have to revisit old friends. And since I was having a little trouble
reading new things, I decided to re-read a view of my favorites.

About the Book:

Gabriel Emerson has embarked on a passionate, yet clandestine affair with his
former student, Julia Mitchell. Sequestered on a romantic holiday in Italy, he
tutors her in the sensual delights of the body and the raptures of sex. But
when they return, their happiness is threatened by conspiring students,
academic politics, and a jealous ex-lover. When Gabriel is confronted by the
university administration, will he succumb to Dante’s fate? Or will he fight to
keep Julia, his Beatrice, forever?

In
Gabriel’s Rapture, the brilliant sequel to the wildly successful debut novel,
Gabriel’s Inferno, Sylvain Reynard weaves an exquisite love story that will
touch the reader’s mind, body, and soul, forever.

My Review:

When I
decided I wanted to t re-read some of my favorite books, I knew I needed to
re-read the Gabriel’s Inferno series by Sylvain Reynard. I completely fall in
love with this series years ago and I was super excited to start reading these
books again. It still surprises me that I can forget certain details over the
years.

‘Gabriel’s
Rapture’ is the second book in the Gabriel’s Inferno series and it start right
where the first book ended. This book is much more dramatic then the first one,
I think. The romance between Julianne and Gabriel is more intense and their
relationship gets more and more heated. But they both have a past that keeps
haunting them.

I loved
‘Gabriel’s Rapture’ the first time I read it, and I still love it. Time goes by
fast in this book, sometimes to fast for me, but other times I wished time
would go by faster. But this isn’t a bad thing. No not at all. The moments
Julianne and Gabriel are together are just so good to read about, I just never
want to stop reading about them.

What I loved
most about ‘Gabriel’s Rapture’, next to the romance parts is the way Julianne
seemed to get a little bit more fierce. In the first book she just seemed to
take a lot of bad stuff, and in this book she stands up for herself a little
more. And I just really loved that.

If you
want to read a beautiful romantic story this series is definitely for you. I
also kind of feel like I’m a little smarter since I also learned some art stuff
in this read. LOL!

My Rating:

About the Author:

NEW YORK
TIMES, USA TODAY AND #1 INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLING AUTHOR

I’m interested in the way literature can help us explore aspects of the human
condition – particularly suffering, sex, love, faith, and redemption. My favourite
stories are those in which a character takes a journey, either a physical
journey to a new and exciting place, or a personal journey in which he or she
learns something about himself/herself.

I’m also interested in how aesthetic elements such as art, architecture, and
music can be used to tell a story or to illuminate the traits of a particular
character. In my writing, I combine all of these elements with the themes of
redemption, forgiveness, and the transformative power of goodness.

I try to use my platform as an author to raise awareness about the following
charities: Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation, WorldVision, Alex’s Lemonade
Stand, and Covenant House.
