From K Bromberg, the New York Times and USA Today
bestselling author of the Driven series comes another pulse-raising,
unputdownable romance . . .

Hawkin Play, the bad boy rock star with a good guy heart,
has lived a lifetime of cleaning up after his twin brother’s mistakes. Hunter’s
most recent screwup could land Hawke in jail and risk the band’s future. Hawke
agrees to guest lecture at a local college to stay in the judge’s good
graces-and a bet with his bandmate to seduce his sexy teaching assistant is icing
on the cake.
Quinlan Westin is harder to bed than Hawke imagined. She
knows his type and is determined to avoid the rocker at all costs-even if their
attraction runs deeper than simple lust.
Just as Hawke might finally be winning over the girl, his
brother has other plans. When Hunter realizes his twin finally has a weakness,
he’ll stop at nothing to take advantage…

My Review:

Last March I read ‘Slow Burn’ the fifth book in the
Driven series by K. Bromberg. Although this book was already the fifth one in
the series, it can be read as a standalone, and I completely fell in love with
this book. So when I was asked to read and review ‘Sweet Ache’, the sixth book
in the series, I was super excited and immediately agreed to the review. This book
is also a standalone.
In ‘Sweet Ache’ we meet Quinlan Westin, a graduate
student who is completely done with love and guys. All Quinlan wants is to graduate,
have fun and not worry about guys. Her plan is working out great so far. But
one day she is asked to be the TA of a new guest teacher. Unfortunately for
Quinlan, the guest teacher is Hawkin Play, the star of a rock band. Hawking
Play is the ultimate rock star, he is very handsome and has many groupies. But
what the outside world doesn’t see is the broken heart he has after a horrible
experience in his past.
Now Hawkin excepts a bet with his bandmate to seduce his
new sexy teaching assistant. But what he didn’t expect was this girl to change
his life.
I was super excited to start reading this book. Since ‘Slow
Burn’ is one of my favorite reads of this year so far, my expectations were
really high for ‘Sweet Ache’. But I really shouldn’t have worried, K. Bromberg
did another amazing job. From the moment I started reading this book I just couldn’t
put it down. This is such a beautiful and touching book. I just couldn’t get
enough.
The main characters Quinlan and Hawkin immediately
grabbed my attention. Quinlan is a fun, sweet girl who has been hurt too much
by man in the past. Since she grew up watching her brother be a huge player when
he was single, and now being hurt by another player..  She is done with players. She just wants to
date casual with no strings attached and graduate.  But then Hawkin comes along. I don’t think
anyone could blame her for liking Hawkin. He is sexy, handsome, a rock star and
seems to be all into her. I loved how Quinlan stood up to Hawkin and how she
was able to stand her own against him.
Hawkin was a character I won’t forget for a long time. His
past made him who he is today and people don’t really see the guy he really is.
I definitely had a crush on his character. I mean.. Wow!!
The rock star vs teaching assistant concept was really
wonderful. This book was so romantic and addicting I just never wanted it to
end. K. Bromberg was again able to write a wonderful story that is fun to read,
romantic, addicting and makes you feel a ton of emotions.
What I love the most about the two books I read by K.
Bromberg so far, is the way these books are sexy, but it all really is about
the connection between the two main characters. Intense is definitely the best
word to describe these books.
I think I just became a groupie to K. Bromberg! Go read
this book everyone!!

About the Author:

K. Bromberg was born and raised in Southern California.
She graduated from University of California at San Diego with two
bachelors-economics and political science-but always loved to write.

K. Bromberg remains in Southern California with her
husband and their three young children. When not writing or working her day
job, she can be found playing ninjas or power rangers with her son, fixing the
hair of her oldest daughter’s American girl doll, or doing ‘arts and crafts’
with her youngest daughter, or listening to any or all of them
fight/whine/laugh at once. When she needs a break from the daily chaos, you can
almost always find her with Kindle in hand, devouring the pages of a good book
or mentally outlining her next set of characters.
