This week has definitely flown by. Due to COVID, there are still people visiting to see our baby boy for the first time. Because of the lockdown restrictions, only one person is allowed to visit each day. So I’ll probably still have people visiting till the day I’ll have to get back to work. LOL!! I don’t mind though. It’s a nice distraction when we aren’t able to do much else.
Next to daily visitors this week has been pretty exhausting. Our baby boy isn’t sleeping all that well during the night, due to a leap,(except when I’m holding him) and our baby girl is waking up every day around 05.30 a.m. Which means I’m not getting a lot of sleep. I think I’ve slept 8 hours in total in the last three/four days. And I’m exhausted!! But it is part of the deal when you have a baby I guess and they are both very cute.. So it’s worth it! LOL. But I haven’t been able to do a lot of blogging because of it. Hopefully this week I’ll have more time.
Reading wise I have been doing well. Reading with a sleeping baby in hand is easy to do. And I love those moments when I can look into the little boys face. Sigh..
I hope you guys are doing well. What have you been reading?

Aw that’s nice you’re able to have visitors but yikes about the sleep thing! I remember those days haha whe I had little ones! They were so adorable then. Hope you get more sleep this week, and have a good one!
Thanks Greg.
Enjoy the time with your baby boy! I hope next week will bring you more sleep.
Thank you Esther.
Sorry to hear about the lack of sleep! Praying your baby boy settles into a sleeping pattern soon for you. But nice you have been able to see friends and family, even if one at a time, and enjoy some reading with baby in arms. 😊 This week I have been reading the historical-mystery Justice Hall by Laurie R. King, which has swept me back in time to a large, country estate. 🔎 Take care and happy reading in the coming week, Maureen 🙂
Thanks Jessica. It sure has been nice to see people again.
Justice Hall sounds wonderfull. Enjoy your reading 😉
Have a great week and happy reading.
Yes… I recall those days – and you’re right… it comes with the territory! I hope you manage to get sufficient rest – I got very very good at snatching 15 minute naps and snapping to with a bit of extra energy. Even the thought of it right now makes me wince:)).
I hope despite the lack of sleep, you are still able to sufficiently enjoy your beautiful little boy and your adorable little girl in the coming week, Maureen.
Thanks Sarah. I definitely should try to nap more. But everytime I get a little time I start reading or try to do some blogging. Taking care of myself is definitely not something I’m very good in. LOL!.
Maureen, you tell those visitors they can only come over if they are going to watch the kiddos so you can get some sleep 🙂
LOL!!! What a great idea! 😀
I agree with Victoria. If so many visitors want to come over they should watch the kids and let you sleep. I’d try to schedule some alone days! I used to breastfeed my daughter at night and then go to sleep early so my husband would watch her and sort of keep her up until he went to bed in a couple hours. That way I could get about 6 hours of sleep before she woke up for a night feeding at 3 or 4 am . But she was such a sleeper that by the time she was 2 weeks old she slept 11p-6am and I had to wake her up to feed her and she slept again while I got ready for work.
I’m glad you are getting in some reading. I loved The Midnight Bargain and it has such a gorgeous cover.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Yes, I probably should try to take care of myself more. My husband works a lot and has to wake up early.. So I always try to make things easier for him. But I often forget we are both parents to this little guy and he can help out too.
Have a great week and happy reading.
I hope you are able to get more sleep soon, but I do know how that goes when you have little ones around. I am glad you have been able to fit in some reading. Midnight Bargain is on my list to read. It sounds so good! I hope you have a great week, Maureen! Take care.
Thanks Wendy.
Sorry to hear the little guy isn’t sleeping well at night. That’s got to be a struggle. I know my sister’s new daughter has good nights and not so good nights. I keep thinking back and remembering how her first daughter did pretty well through the nights, now it seems each child after steadily gets a little worse at sleeping through the nights. Hopefully they’ll balance out sooner rather than later so everyone can get a good night’s sleep!
Nice new reads! Those are new to me ones, but I hope you enjoy them all!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Thanks Jessica. It’s a good thing the little boy is so cute 😀
Awe. I feel for you and your lack of sleep, but yes they are worth it 🙂
They sure are 😀
Daily visitors sounds exhausting haha I’m sorry for the lack of sleep! I used to wake up every two hours with my son but luckily he sleeps through the night now. Before though, it sucked. I had a hard time reading when my son fell asleep on me, the slightest movement would wake him up so I couldn’t turn the page lol! I’m glad you’re getting reading in. Happy reading!
Honestly, I normally would think it exhausting too. But since we have been in lockdown for so long and haven’t been able to do or see much.. it’s kind of wonderful to be ‘busy’ again.
Thank god for my kindle.. Reading a paperback is definitely more challenging at the moment.
Oh wow, that is a level of sleep deprivation I don’t think I’ve ever hit! 🙁 I hope this week is a better one and you get lots of naps!
Your comment about reading with a sleeping baby in your arms gave me a flash back to when my son was little… It’s a beautiful thing, isn’t it? So contented and peaceful.
Thanks Nicci. It’s definitely one of the best things holding that little boy in my arms and watch him sleep.
