I’ve been a huge Nora Roberts for a while now. I just love everything she writes. The books she has written under her own name or a pseudonym, it doesn’t matter I enjoy it all. So when I received an ARC of Hideaway I got super excited. And when I could I started reading asap.
In ‘Hideaway’ we meet Caitlyn Sullivan. Caitlyn is the daughter of Hollywood royalty. She comes from a close family filled with actors. And although her family is rich and pretty privileged, day never take things for granted. But one day when Caitlyn is ten years old, she got kidnapped during a game of hide and seek. That game changed her life and things never got back to how they where before. In this book we follow Caitlyn’s life from the day she got kidnapped to life in her twenties. After escaping her kidnappers, she had to life with her fears and the betrayal.
What I love about Nora Roberts writing is the way she always creates a completely new family saga in only a view chapters. I went from not knowing the Sullivan family, to knowing several generations. And I loved getting to know this family. It was fun to read about this Hollywood family filled with award winning actor. It was definitely something new and I enjoyed it.
Although this book contains some suspense throughout the whole book, it was the first part that held the most suspense. We learn early on who Caitlyn kidnapper was, and although I didn’t mind that at all.. It did make the other suspense a little less thrilling in my opinion.
The romance in this book was definitely nice too. I figured out who would be Caitlyn’s love interest early on, and I loved reading when that romance would develop. It isn’t the main focus of this book though, and although I love my books to have lots of romance I didn’t mind it not being the main focus at all.
‘Hideaway’ was a fun and entertaining read that I definitely enjoyed. I don’t think it’s Nora Roberts best work. But it really was fun.

It’s been many years since I’ve read anything by Nora Roberts and I don’t even now why. Because I always used to enjoy her books. I love stories that center on families and this sounds like a good one!
It really was a fun read and I’d really recommend it. And I think we all have authors we loved, want to read again.. but just haven’t been able to start reading yet. Maybe soon 😉
