They say opposites attract. I never believed that until I met Abby. I was an Ivy League student, the eldest son of an affluent family, living a life of luxury and rubbing elbows with D.C.’s elite. Sounds great, right? Too bad prestige comes with a price. When the expectations became too much, I decided to escape to the hills of West Virginia with my best friend for a summer of fun, some R & R and a little white water rafting. I wanted to lose myself in the outdoors, but instead found Abby. A petite waitress and all around spitfire, she knocked me off my game, making me want more than the casual, no strings attached relationships I was used to. To me, she’s not just another summer fling. She’s something that could last.

When I saw this cover on Netgalley I was intrigued, and after I read the book description I knew I wanted to read this book. I was in need of a good romance novel, so when I was approved to read ‘Something That Could Last’ I couldn’t be more excited. I started reading as fast as possible.

In ‘Something That Could Last’ we meet Abby. Abby’s life has been hard the last view years and she has to work two jobs almost every day to make sure she can finish college and pay for her other expanses. The last thing she needs is the distraction of a guy in her life. Especially since most guys she meets only seem to want one thing. But when Abby meets Jacob she is blown away by him. Not only because he is extremely handsome, but also because he is kind and very chivalrous. But Jacob is not like Abby. Jacob’s family has a lot of money and influence. And how can two people who come from two very different worlds ever work out?

From the moment I started reading, I really loved ‘Something That Could Last’. The two main characters Abby and Jacob were really fun to get to know and I just loved those two. I loved Abby because I could just easily imagine me being friends with her. She works extremely hard, loves her grandmother and brother and just has a very big heart. And Jacob.. well.. He really is a swoon worthy character. Handsome, kind, chivalrous and totally taken with Abby. What I loved most about him was the fact that he was from such a rich family, but was just a normal nice guy and he didn’t want people to like him because of his money.

The romance between Abby and Jacob was just really good. Butterflies in your belly kind of good! I loved every moment between them in this book and I couldn’t stop reading. Although they just met, they both felt that this ‘thing’ between them was much more than they ever imagined. And I could feel every emotion right along with them.

There were also some other characters in this book that I would like to know more about. Abby’s best friend Tiff for one. There is still a lot of mystery about Tiff’s character, and I really hope there will be a story about her too.

And then the ending in this book.. Wow! I started worrying when I read on my kindle that I had only a view minutes left before the book ended. But nothing could prepare me for this ending… I just need to know what will happen next!! It’s such an open and unsatisfying ending! But in a good way! And I just don’t know what to do with myself. When will I be able to read what happens next between Abby and Jacob??

‘Something That Could Last’ is definitely a great, romantic story that I loved from the beginning till end.
