As snowflakes fall in Gold Valley, Oregon, will this rugged cowboy finally win the woman of his dreams Cowboy Caleb Dalton has loved single mom Ellie Bell, and her little daughter, Amelia, for years. But since Ellie is his best friend’s widow, Caleb’s head knows Ellie will always be strictly off-limits. If only his heart got the memo. So when Caleb discovers that Ellie has a Christmas wish list—and hopes for a kiss under the mistletoe—he’s throwing his cowboy hat into the ring. If anyone’s going to be kissing Ellie and sharing this magical time with her and her daughter, it’s him. Ellie has dreaded the holidays since losing her husband. But this year, she’s finally ready to make some changes. She never expects the biggest change to be the heart-stopping kiss she shares with Caleb. For almost five years, Caleb has been her best friend, her rock, her salvation. This Christmas, can Caleb prove he’s also the missing puzzle piece of Ellie’s and Amelia’s hearts?

Maisey Yates is definitely one of my favorite authors, and over the last view months I’ve been trying to read as many of her books as I could. So when her new Christmas book came up, and I was signing up for the HoHoHo Readathon, I knew this was a book I had to get and had to use for the readathon. So when HoHoHo started, I began reading as fast as I could.

Ever since I read a little about the youngest Dalton brother Caleb in the previous books in the Gold Valley series,  I just knew I had to read this book. There is just something about his character that I loved from the start. And his character only got better and better if you ask me. Although I didn’t really connect with Ellie as much as I did with Caleb, her character was definitely one I was rooting for from the start.

Caleb has been in love with his best friends wife for years, even before she was his best friends wife. But life got in the way, and Caleb always kept his distance. Now his best friend is dead, and he feels a constant struggle between taking care of her because that is what his best friend would have wanted and his feelings. Yes, it sounds complicating and throughout this read you could ‘feel’ Caleb’s struggles.

The Christmas part in this book was definitely nice. I mean.. Cowboys and Christmas? Yep. I loved it! And although I really enjoyed the Christmas part, and I enjoyed the characters I didn’t love this book as much as I hoped when I started reading. I guess because of all those confusing feelings, and struggles.

But still.. even it’s not my favorite Maisey Yates read. ‘Cowboy Christmas Redemption’ really is a fun Romantic Christmas read I’d recommend.
