Whoops! I’m pregnant with my enemy’s baby….

Matt Sullivan isn't just the grumpiest ferry boat captain in Calico Cove, with sun-kissed hair and broad shoulders - he's also my sworn enemy. In high school, I thought we were endgame but then he broke my heart in the worst possible way. I swore that someday I'd make him regret every cruel word he said to me that night.

Now I'm back in my home town, filming a Christmas movie and making secret plans to start a family.

Matt and I have waged war every day for months, but when one vulnerable moment rekindles our explosive chemistry, we end up making more than love.

Now, I'm having his baby and he says he wants me forever. Can I trust the man who broke my heart?

What if we were never meant for forever?

In ‘Never Forever’ we read the story of childhood sweethearts Matt and Carrie. They met years ago and from the moment they met there has always been something special between them. But Matt was the boy who would never leave the small town, and Carrie was the beautiful girl who would make it in Hollywood someday. It felt like everyone was against them at times, but they worked hard on staying together and promised each other forever.

Unfortunately, things changed when Matt had to make a difficult decision that changed both their lives. Matt and Carrie broke up dramatically. Matt stayed in Calico Cove, and Carrie did what she was supposed to, and ended up making it in Hollywood. Now years later, Carrie comes back to Calico Cove to shoot a movie. And from the moment Matt and Carrie meet again there is a lot of anger between them. They try to stay away from each other, but Calico Cove is just to small.

The more time Matt and Carrie are forced to spend together, the more they seem to hate each other. Until one moment changes everything, and they end up sleeping together. Both agree almost right away it’s a mistake.. but then Carrie finds out she is pregnant.. with Matt’s baby.

Honestly, when I first read the book blurb of ‘Never Forever’ I wasn’t sure what to expect. But I knew I’ve loved Hailey Shore’s writing previously, so I decided to go for it. And I was glad I did.

From the moment I started reading I felt myself enjoying every page. We go from the moment Matt and Carrie meet again years later, to when they meet when they where both children, back to the present. Although I’m not always a big fan of alternating timelines, it definitely worked for this book and I enjoyed reading the beginning of Matt and Carrie’s story as well as the present story.

The chemistry between Matt and Carrie was right from the start perfect. Yes, they seemed to hate each other.. but it was also really clear there was so much going on between them. And I honestly loved their interactions. The angry ones, and the sweet ones.

I really enjoyed how different these two characters where. But the one thing they had in common was the way they loved deeply.

The setting of Calico Cove was just as great as I remembered from the previous book in the series I read, and I loved the side characters almost as much as the main characters. The whole reason for the break up wasn’t my favorite, and the way Matt seemed to stop ‘hating’ Carrie almost right away felt a bit strange to me.. But in the end it worked and I really enjoyed every moment I got with these characters.

After reading ‘Never Forever’, I can’t wait to read more by these authors. Although part of a series, this book can easily be read as a standalone.
