About the Book:
from life’s frustration with Dreamscape, a video game she’s loved since
childhood. As her family prepares to move, a sleepy night of gaming pulls her
into the world like never before. Trapped in Dreamscape’s realm, Alex is about
to learn that being a hero has consequences… and this time, the stakes are
deadly. Will helping the rebellion cost her everything she knows and loves? Or
will she betray them to save her own life?
My Review:
Saving Alex’ I was a little hesitant. I love the cover but when I read this
book would be about a girl who is sucked into a video game, I didn’t really
know if this book would something for me. But I love taking changes so I signed
up, and after I received the email that I would be a part of the tour, I soon
started reading.
In ‘Dreamscape: Saving Alex’ we meet Alex. Alex just
heard the worst news of her life (she is still young so don’t judge), her mom
told her they are moving tomorrow! Not weeks from now, but tomorrow! Alex is
devastated, so when her best friend visits her that evening she is in desperate
need of some advice. Between the girl talk they are cleaning out Alex’s room
when they come across an old videogame they played many times growing up:
Dreamscape.
move, Alex plays Dreamscape one more time, only this time Alex finds herself
being pulled into another world. The world of Dreamscape and Alex life is about
to change forever.
reading this book, is that Kirstin Pulioff has an great writing style. Her
writing is easy to read, and makes you want to keep reading. She was able to
create this world where I just couldn’t get enough of and although I had my
doubts I really enjoyed this book.
like some parts of the story where a little rushed I can’t think of a thing I
would change about this book.
definitely Arrow. I loved how he was this leader but could also be very sweet.
I’m just a terrible romantic and I couldn’t read enough about Arrow and Alex.
character as much as I did the rest. I can’t really tell you why I didn’t like
Alex so much.. but I just didn’t feel a connection with her from the very beginning
on.
developed, had some great characters and above all it’s a very unique story. I
would definitely recommend this book if you’re a fan of fantasy and games.
