My Review:
‘A Discovery of Witches’ for the first time in 2013. I loved it right away and
I can remember staying up till late just so I could finish it. When I saw the
trailer of the tv show of ‘A Discovery of Witches’ a view weeks ago I knew I
just had to read that book again. I remembered some stuff about this book, but
I didn’t everything and I just had to re-read it. So I did.
Discovery of Witches’ we meet Diana Bishop a historian who always worked hard
to just be ‘normal’. And Diana succeeded in that, until one day she
accidentally comes across an alchemical manuscript filled with magic. At first
Diana didn’t think a lot of it.. but soon the library she uses for her work
gets fuller and fuller with creatures demons, witches and vampires watching
her. Including Matthew Clairmont, a handsome and mysterious vampire. Soon Diana
finds out that she can’t ignore her own magic and especially Matthew anymore.
And her life changes forever.
the first time I read this book, I really enjoyed getting lost in these pages.
‘A Discovery of Witches’ is a book unlike any other I read. There is romance,
suspense and a lot of history in these pages. This is not a book you read
without keeping your head with it. But fortunately the way Deborah Harkness
writes, makes you sitting on the edge of your seat, not able to put the book
down. I didn’t really follow everything,
especially the alchemist stuff.. but overall this book is just very good and makes
me want to read more.
romance between Diana and Matthew is very nice to read about. Matthew is very strong
and dominant, and Diana is tough and used to taking care of herself. Diana and
Matthew bump heads a lot, especially in the beginning. But it makes there love
story even better and I couldn’t stop reading, even though I already knew what
was happening.
Discovery of Witches’ is definitely a great book that makes you want to start
reading the next book in the series as soon as possible. There is so much you’d
still want answers too after reading this book. There are so many questions
still on answered.. I definitely need to re-read the second book soon to. And I
can’t wait to see the tv show.

My lifehas been a series of left turns that nevertheless took me in the right
direction (though it didn’t always seem so at the time). I went to college to
be a theater major and ended up studying the Renaissance. I went to grad school
to become a college administrator and loved to teach so much I became a college
professor instead. I thought I wanted to be a Tudor-Stuart historian, and found
myself a historian of science. I started blogging because a friend needed help
on a project in 2006 and am still blogging about wine today. I started writing
a novel in the fall of 2008, and it became a New York Times Bestseller in
February 2011: A Discovery of Witches. The second volume in the All Souls
Trilogy, Shadow of Night, came out in July 2012 and debuted at #1 on the New
York Times Bestseller’s List, as did the final volume The Book of Life. I
haven’t managed to escape the world of All Souls, however. A companion book
(May 2018) and a book about Marcus are on their way (Time’s Convert, September
2018).
