The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It’s a chance to share news ~ A Post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
It’s June
and I’m back!! It has been a while since I did a Sunday Post and I was really
looking forward to getting back at it this week. A lot has happened the last
view weeks. On May 19th I became Mrs. Bakker. Yes, that’s right.. we got
married. The wedding we were planning for months finally happened and it was
amazing. We had such an incredible day, everything went the way we wanted too
and it was just perfect.
The day
started when my beautiful, then fiancé, came to pick me up at my mom’s house in
a beautiful Rolls Royce Daimler Landaulette. What an amazing car! We definitely
did catch some attention when we drove to our Wedding location.
Before the
ceremony started we went to a beautiful location to make some photos. We had an
amazing photographer who really knew what he was doing. We made some great
photos. They will be ready in about 2 weeks, so I’ll share some more photos
then. 😉

At 4 p.m.
our ceremony started with our friends and family and it was perfect. Not too
long, not to mushy and just exactly right. After the ceremony we had some prosecco
with a very tasty amuse. At 6 p.m. we had a great and amazing dinner with our guests.
It was so tasty and fun, and all the details (like menu cards, decorations etc.)
I spend my days on preparing worked out perfectly.
At 20.45
p.m. the party started, for which more family, friends and colleagues were
invited. And what nobody knew, because we kept it a secret for everyone, was
that we prepared an opening dance. We had been practicing for months and
everyone was so surprised. Especially since dancing isn’t really something that
we’d normally do. We danced on At Last by Etta James, and it was amazing.
After that
we partied for hours, with more dancing, nice drinks and snacks. We had such a
great time!
Our table filled with all our wedding gifts.
And boy
did we get a lot of gifts and cards. It was just amazing! We spend the Saturday
after our wedding opening gifts and reading cards. We were just blown away by
everything. One of the things we got was a homemade cookbook, where everyone of
our friends, family and colleagues put a recipe in. So awesome. I can’t wait to
start preparing those recipes.
On Tuesday
May 23rd we went on our Honeymoon to Lanzarote. What a beautiful island, and
what a great time we had. We had a beautiful home, with our own pool and
everything was just perfect. We went out for lunch and dinner every day, and we
had some tasty cocktails. We are definitely two very lucky people.
Thursday
we got back home, and although it takes some getting used too after being in
the relaxing-siesta-Spanish life, it’s good to be home. I was really looking
forward to start blogging again and since we still have vacation till June 12th,
we’ve planned some nice things to do here in Holland too.
I hope you
guys all have been doing good too. I’m looking forward to visiting your blogs
and catching up. After months of wedding stuff and not really having a lot of
time for books and blogging I’m over the moon to being back. And finally being
married to the man of my dreams feels pretty damn good!
