GoodreadsA forbidden romance.
There’s only one thing worse than your fiancé dying . . .It's having to look into his face every single day.
Or should I say - the face of his twin.So I left.
I never knew promises were made. Then broken. And I surely never expected those promises to be about me.
When I return to my hometown and see his face, the heartache I’ve been running from is front and center. But it becomes harder and harder to keep hating the man who looks exactly like the man I loved.
After reading the previous two books in the Calloway Brothers series, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on ‘Untaken Twin’. So when I got the ARC, I started reading as soon as I could. And have you looked at that cover? Love this one so much!
In ‘Untaken Twin’ we read the story of Cooper. Cooper has lost his twin brother four years ago when they went on a trip together. And ever since, Cooper has tried to lose himself in the most dangerous expeditions out there. But one day, he gets injured and has to go back to his hometown to give his body time to heal. Back in town he soon see his dead brother’s fiancé Serenity is also back.
Serenity has fled her home town after losing the love of her life years ago. Now, her father needs her back to help save his bar. But after neglecting her past for years, she now has to face it more than ever. But seeing the face of her fiancé? It just doesn’t get easier. At least that is what she always thought. But the more time Cooper and Serenity spend together, the more Serenity starts to see Cooper for who he is.
The story of Cooper and Serenity definitely was a roller coaster of emotions. Not only the characters felt confused, torn and sad. I totally felt it with them. The romance between Cooper and Serenity sure was intense to read. I loved reading the story through both point of views, but I definitely preferred Cooper’s story. He was this broken, but kind and very loveable guy. Getting to know him sure was fun.
Although I truly enjoyed ‘Untaken Twin’, it honestly was my least favorite of the three. I just felt a bit confused about Serenity falling for the identical twin brother of her dead fiancé. And the major twists near the end, made it all the bit more confusing for me. I just didn’t really liked those two major twists.
But the setting of Calloway Creek sure was very enjoyable. As was reading little bits about the previous characters in the series. And I definitely can’t wait to read more books by this author. Especially the story of the Calloway sister.
