GoodreadsThe world had tried to break her.
Addie has dreamt of freedom for as long as she can remember—peace away from the torment of her old life. But now that it’s finally within her grasp, she’s struggling to take those first steps into her new reality.
The last thing she wants is a new roommate to see the scars she’s desperate to keep hidden, especially not the ruggedly handsome man who steals her breath and sends her heart into overdrive.
“I’m nobody’s hero. Trust me.”
All Beckett wants is to silence the demons of his past. The first step is to make amends for not being there when his family needed him the most. That means settling in Wolf Gap for good, even if the town reminds him of all the ways he failed.
He never expected to share a home with a blonde-haired beauty with haunting hazel eyes. But he’s held captive by her quiet strength and the way she sees everything he tries to hide.
Soon, an unlikely friendship becomes so much more. But when forces from Addie’s life slink out of the shadows, they could both lose everything they fought so hard for—down to their very last breaths…
After devouring the first two books in the Tattered & Torn series I was really excited about the upcoming books in this series. And when I was lucky enough to get picked to join Catherine’s ARC team, I was so excited! (I definitely made this awkward little dance around the living room!!) So when ‘Hidden Waters’ arrived on my kindle, I knew I had to read this one right away.
In ‘Hidden Waters’ we read the story of Addie and Beckett. Addie has lived in a world of pain and betrayal all her life. You honestly can’t imagine the world she has lived in! Luckily, Addie escaped the horrors of her childhood home and slowly tries to rebuild her life. But trusting people is hard for her. Especially strange guys. So when Addie is kind of forced to let her cousins future brother in law in her house as a roommate, she is definitely a bit reluctant. But Addie is determined to be strong and show the world she can take care of herself.
Beckett has left his childhood town when his family broke many years ago. Now he realizes he was wrong to leave the people he loved behind and he is determined to stick around this time. When Beckett meets Addie, he can see the hurt and scars she is desperately trying to forget. And although she tries to be invisible, Beckett can’t seem to stay away from her and not see her.
‘Hidden Waters’ was definitely another masterpiece. If I could have given it more stars than five, I honestly would have given it without a moment of hesitation. I mean wow! From the moment I read about Addie’s character in the first book in this series (no worries, you can easily read these books as standalones), I was really curious about her and couldn’t wait to read her story. And it was even better than I could have imagined.
Addie and Beckett’s story is so touching. The romance and chemistry between them was just amazing and I loved getting to know them better. And above all I loved reading how they grew closer and closer. Addie is one of those characters I’ll remember forever. She has never really known a lot of kindness, but still she is this incredible kind and strong person. I absolutely adored her.
Beckett’s character was the perfect book boyfriend. He was a doctor, and determined to make Addie trust him. He was incredible patient with Addie and I just loved him.
Next to some swoon worthy romance, we get some suspense that made me desperate to continue reading. And I honestly read this book in one day! Sigh.. I can’t wait to read more books in this series. Amazing!
