Dagger Brotherhood delivers the first novel in an enthralling new series set
amid the shifting dynamics of a Southern family defined by wealth and
privilege—and compromised by secrets, deceit, and scandal….
For generations, the Bradford family has worn the mantle of kings of the
bourbon capital of the world. Their sustained wealth has afforded them prestige
and privilege—as well as a hard-won division of class on their sprawling
estate, Easterly. Upstairs, a dynasty that by all appearances plays by the rules
of good fortune and good taste. Downstairs, the staff who work tirelessly to
maintain the impeccable Bradford facade. And never the twain shall meet.
For Lizzie King, Easterly’s head gardener, crossing that divide nearly ruined
her life. Falling in love with Tulane, the prodigal son of the bourbon dynasty,
was nothing that she intended or wanted—and their bitter breakup only served to
prove her instincts were right. Now, after two years of staying away, Tulane is
finally coming home again, and he is bringing the past with him. No one will be
left unmarked: not Tulane’s beautiful and ruthless wife; not his older brother,
whose bitterness and bad blood know no bounds; and especially not the
ironfisted Bradford patriarch, a man with few morals, fewer scruples, and many,
many terrible secrets.
As family tensions—professional and intimately private—ignite, Easterly and all
its inhabitants are thrown into the grips of an irrevocable transformation, and
only the cunning will survive.

My Review:
and I was definitely immediately fascinated by this beautiful looking book. I just
love the look of the orange book with the guys in tux. It definitely gives a
kind of vibe. After I read the book description I was even more fascinated by
this book. A wealthy Southern family.. It sounded like a great read and I
started reading as soon as possible.
slow to me, to be honest. It took a very long time for this story to get past
the introductions of all the different characters. Although it wasn’t exactly
boring to read, it also wasn’t very interesting yet. We get to know the names
of the Bradford family, and it becomes clear that they are indeed wealthy, and
have a lot of secrets. I was especially worried about one of the main
characters Lizzie King. She was supposedly in a relationship with Tulane
Bradford a view years back, until he got married with someone else. And I
worried how this book could end up to be a romantic read. Especially since I
really hate reading about people having affairs.
this book more and more. The characters were definitely growing on me, not all
of them but most. And I began to like reading about the rich people on the
Easterly Estate.
Sometimes I had a little trouble keeping up, but I really enjoyed reading it. I
especially liked the parts about Lizzie and Tulane, and the parts about Tulane’s
brother Edward. Those parts about Edward definitely made you want to read more
about his character.
definitely for you. Man.. It was hard to keep up sometimes. That Bradford
family is definitely a family filled with drama and intrigues. They definitely
made this a very interesting read.
book was definitely there, but it missed something. I don’t know what exactly.
But maybe I just missed something because it took me a while to really get the
relationship between Lizzie and Tulane.
like to check out the next book in the series. Rating wise.. I’m feeling like
this read was between a three and a four star rating. Let’s do a four just
because I think this series definitely has potential.
