Last weekend was the first weekend I had to work since coming back from my maternity leave. It definitely made me realize how much I love spending the weekend with my family. The work was good, my husband did great with the kids, but still.. I always feel like I’m missing important stuff when I have to work when they are at home. Luckily I’ll be home for the next three weekends.
On Tuesday my best friend and I took the kids to the zoo. A different zoo than the one we life close to and visit regularly, and we had an amazing time. Our little girl looked her eyes out, and it was definitely a very fun day. And it was the first time you could definitely see that our baby boy was taking notice of the things around him. Isn’t this a gorgeous photo?
I had to work on Wednesday and Thursday, and on Friday we visited my mom since dance class is done for the Summer. Today, Saturday, we spend the day visiting a lake and enjoying the gorgeous weather. And tomorrow we will go to a outdoor theater for a 30 minute show of Miffy. I can’t wait to see the look on our girls face. And I’m really curious to see what she thinks of it.
Outside of work and family life things have been a little crazy here in the Netherlands. Covid numbers are through the roof again, and we are getting a few restrictions back that we just only where able to let go a few weeks ago. One of the most famous Dutch crime journalists was shot in the head in Amsterdam and died a few days later. And we had a lot of rain which let to a lot of flooding in the southern Netherlands. It’s just been awful to put on the news this week.
I hope you guys are doing well! What have you been reading?

What a beautiful photo!! I always loved going to the zoo as a kid (I would drag my mom there at least once a week). Hope you and your loved ones are staying safe!
Thank you. The zoo is definitely one of my favorite places to take my kids.
I do love that photo and imagining the wonderful time you had with the kids.
I wish more people would take precautions and also get vaccinated…so we could finally be done with COVID!
Enjoy your week, and here are my WEEKLY UPDATES
Yes, me too. Sometimes it feels like we will never get done with COVID. Sigh..
Thanks for stopping by and happy reading.
I loved this pic of you and your kids at the zoo! It’s just adorable! Glad you guys had a fun time there! That’s sad about your news lately. I feel like every day we have some sort of shooting going on in our city. It’s largely why I don’t put the news on anymore. Too depressing.
Nice new reads! Those are new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Thank you Jessica. And I’m definitely trying to not watch the news at much. I’m getting sick of all the bad stuff and COVID news.
Happy reading.
That picture of you and your kids at the zoo looks great, sounds like you all had a fun day. That’s a shame you had work the weekend, but good to hear you have the next 3 weekends free. It sure was a crazy week news wise here with everything going on. Let’s hope next week is a good one.
Thanks Lola. It has definitely been a bit crazy news wise. This week seems to be a little better fortunately.
Happy reading.
The zoo picture is adorable! I’m glad you had a lovely time.
The news has been horrific to watch with the flooding across Europe… Not to mention the covid surges. Then, of course, the UK government decides it’s removing all restrictions DESPITE the surging numbers… You couldn’t make it up. 🙁
I hope you have a good week, stay safe, and enjoy the outdoor theatre today!
Thank you Nicci. It has definitely been a bit crazy watching the news. I hope you’re staying safe.
Happy reading.
I love your photo, beautiful children. My daughter always loved the zoo. I’m glad you get to spend time with them.
