Last weekend was the first weekend I had to work since coming back from my maternity leave. It definitely made me realize how much I love spending the weekend with my family. The work was good, my husband did great with the kids, but still.. I always feel like I’m missing important stuff when I have to work when they are at home. Luckily I’ll be home for the next three weekends.

On Tuesday my best friend and I took the kids to the zoo. A different zoo than the one we life close to and visit regularly, and we had an amazing time. Our little girl looked her eyes out, and it was definitely a very fun day. And it was the first time you could definitely see that our baby boy was taking notice of the things around him. Isn’t this a gorgeous photo?

I had to work on Wednesday and Thursday, and on Friday we visited my mom since dance class is done for the Summer. Today, Saturday, we spend the day visiting a lake and enjoying the gorgeous weather. And tomorrow we will go to a outdoor theater for a 30 minute show of Miffy. I can’t wait to see the look on our girls face. And I’m really curious to see what she thinks of it.

Outside of work and family life things have been a little crazy here in the Netherlands. Covid numbers are through the roof again, and we are getting a few restrictions back that we just only where able to let go a few weeks ago. One of the most famous Dutch crime journalists was shot in the head in Amsterdam and died a few days later. And we had a lot of rain which let to a lot of flooding in the southern Netherlands. It’s just been awful to put on the news this week.

I hope you guys are doing well! What have you been reading?
