Happy June!! Can you guys believe it is already June? I definitely can’t! It feels like only a month ago when I had to stop working due to some pregnancy issues in December, and now I’ve only got two weeks left before I have to go back to work. Crazy.
This week I went to the Zoo with my two kiddos and my grandmother. It was a beautiful day weather wise, and it was just so fun to spend time with my grandma. I love seeing how much she enjoys being with my kids.
This week was also the first time my baby boy went to daycare. This week it only was for one hour (next week he will be going 3 hours, and the week after 5 hours) to help him adjust. In two weeks he and my little girl will be going there two days a week, and one day to a sitter near our home. It all went well, and I know it is necessary since I have to work.. and I love working.. but boy is it hard. It sure helps that our little girl loves going to day care.. but still. It’s a very mixed feeling for sure. LOL! Our boy did very well so I probably have nothing to worry about!! *But you fellow moms get me right?!*
Since the weather this week has been very sunny, I have been able to spend some time in our garden and read a little. I definitely wish we could have this kind of weather every day. It was just so good to get some sun.
Next week my husband will be home, and I will be getting the COVID vaccine. I’m definitely glad to get that done before I’ll go back to work. I was a little anxious to get back to working as a nurse without the vaccine.
What have you been up to this week? Any great new books I need to hear about?

So lovely that you went to the Zoo, the weather really was the best last week. Hopefully we’ll get more and more sun the upcoming weeks!
Good luck with preparing to go back to work 🙂
I really hope so too! It makes all the difference going outside in the sunshine. I don’t even care if I need to wear a facemask now! LOL!
Happy reading.
Maureen, I am so pleased to hear you have been blessed with sunshine too, and that you and the family have been able to get outside to enjoy it 😊 Her Tuscan Summer looks like the perfect read for this weather as well!
As you know, I have also been enjoying my time outside and I have just finished re-reading the YA fantasy Eragon by Christopher Paolini, which was great fun to read basking in the sun! 😎
Take care and happy reading in the coming week.
Ow I love Eragon. I’ve read that one years ago and although I have the next books too.. I never got to them. I hope you’re enjoying them 😉
Happy reading.
I haven’t been to our Zoo since the pandemic started. Ah, I miss it so much! But the summer weather is starting now and usually from my recollection most of the animals don’t hang in their outside habitats as often. Maybe next spring or even towards the fall of this year I can get myself to go there! I still haven’t seen our polar bear and he’s been there for a few years now.
Nice new reads! Those are new to me ones. I hope you enjoy them all once you get to read them!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I really hope you’ll be able to go to the zoo someday soon. I love spending time there with my family. The one nearby us is in the middle of a forrest.. so it’s also a great walk. 😀
Have a great week and happy reading.
Glad to hear you’ll have your Covid vaccine before returning to work! Hopefully that will give you peace of mind. Love the cover of The Long Way Home. I’d love to be standing by that lake!
Thanks Diana. Getting the vaccine before getting back to working as a nurse definitely gives me peace of mind. Especially with our baby boy.
Happy reading.
I’m so glad you are getting your vaccine. We are very dry and need the rain so I am less unhappy about the showers we get some afternoons or overnight (is better). I can’t believe it is June either. I only got 6 weeks off when my daughter was born and the first day of daycare I went and stayed with her the whole day. So I get it.

I’m glad my fellow mamma’s are getting me. My husband understands.. but at the same time seems to think I’m being a bit dramatic. LOL!! I bet that’s the difference between man and woman.
Have a great week and happy reading.
I hope you get your vaccines before you get back to work as planned. I am happy that your day care plans work too. Have a great week ahead.
Thanks Gayathri. Happy reading.
I love just reading out in the sunshine. 🙂 And good luck with daycare! It’s definitely an adjustment (it’s hard to leave them, especially at first!) but our kids did well in daycare and seemed to enjoy it.
Be well this week!
Thanks Greg. Our little girl loves going to the daycare. So that’s whats keeping me sane.. if she loves it, our baby boy probably will too. 😀
Happy reading.
I love visiting zoos. They are so much fun. I’m glad you will be able to get the vaccine.
Those books all look so good. Enjoy them!
Hope you have a great week!
Thanks Yvonne. Happy reading.
Have a lovely week and happy reading!
Thank you. I hope you’re having a lovely week as well.
Our children can love being at daycare, nursery, school, etc. but it doesn’t stop us from feeling awful about abandoning them *sniff*sniff* (I cried dropping my daughter off at 6th Form College!
Glad to hear you’re enjoying your time at home, the trip to the zoo sounded lovely.
Hope you have a great week, Maureen.
Ow I totally get you. Letting go of our kids is so hard. I’m thinking it doesn’t matter if they are 15 weeks, 15 years or 51 years old! LOL!
Happy reading.
I remember how hard it was to leave my baby with a sitter. I am so glad that you are able to get your vaccine before having to go back to work. I hope that you have a great week and enjoy all of your new books.
Thanks Carole. It’s definitely hard. But I’m managing. 😀
Happy reading.
Sitting outside on a pleasant sunny day is such a lovely treat. Daycare is hard! I hope all goes well for you and the kiddos over the next few weeks.
Thank you Victoria 😉
I am still having trouble believing it’s June and we’re nearly two weeks in. I feel for you and send a big hug. It is hard to drop them off at daycare, especially when they are so young. I hope he adjusts well. I think it’s great that you can ease him in. I did that with my daughter too to some extent. It was just as much for me as for her, really.
Your visit to the zoo sounds so nice. I am glad you have been able to spend time outdoors in your garden as well.
I hope you enjoy your reading and have a great week, Maureen.
Thank you Wendy. It’s definitely hard and I’m feeling so many different emotions just thinking about it.
Happy reading.
