The
Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ Itβs a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. |
to participate in my first Sunday Post. I always wanted to participate because
I think this is an awesome feature and really informative. And well, I love
reading the other Sunday Posts. So letβs start!!
week I only had to work on Wednesday. This was definitely a good thing because
I was exhausted and had worked way to much the previous weeks. So this week I
got to catch up on my reading and my blog. I made a Pinterest profile for my
Blog and my boyfriend and I went shopping for drinks and food for New Yearβs
Eve. My boyfriend and I have this tradition on New Yearβs Eve, were we spend
the day at home surrounded with tasty things like salmon, cheese, tuna salad
and lots of drinks like cocktails and champagne. We have been doing this for
almost 7 years now and we love to spend our New Yearβs Eve this way. This year
was definitely another great one. We started 2016 with a nice drink and looking
at all the beautiful fireworks outside.
The days after that were spend relaxing, reading and
clearing out the Christmas decorations. I wish these free days weren’t going by so fast, I wanted to do so much more. But Monday it’s back to work. This week it’s the night shift again!

Happy New Year, Maureen π I love the Sunday Post, too, because it's so nice to catch up with everyone on a day when I have more time than I have during the week.
Have a fantastic week and happy reading.
Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews
Thank you Lexxie. It's definitely nice to read about everybody's week. I really feel like I was missing out. I'm so happy I joined up! π
Happy New Year!!
I love reading the Sunday Post, I think it is due to being nosey I like to see what other people get up too!
I am back to work tomorrow and really cannot be bothered!!
Have a good week!
Thanks Heather. If I wasn't a little nosey already.. The Sunday Post would definitely make me a lot more nosey. I loved reading all these fun posts and finding out about what everyone did with the holidays!
Good luck tomorrow!! π
Welcome to the Sunday Post! It's a lot of fun… I like the sound of your tradition, sounds like a fun way to ring in the New Year!
Thanks Greg!! I think it was a great idea to start a new year with! π
It definitely is a fun tradition.. and it totally fits our personality. We like to be on our own and spend time together like this.
Welcome to the Sunday Post! you'll love it π it is my first time here via Sunday Post, Your blog is adorable π Now following you on twitter and I sent you a Gr friend request. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.
What an awesome New Year's tradition with your man! I used to do that before my hubs had to work New Years. He works midnights so we counted down over the phone π Luckily he's ALWAYS on midnights. Do you have to switch shifts all the time?? That's brutal π Weekends are hard…
Have a great week!!!
I really think it's a great tradition! I love spending New Yearβs like that. Too bad your husband had to work.. but counting down through the phone also has a romantic feel to it right?!
My shifts change every week. This week it's the nightshift Monday until Thursday morning. And the weekend I have the late shift. I'm used to it though. So it doesnβt bother me as much anymore. But itβs always the hardest in the Holiday season.
Enjoy your week π
Oh, I loved The Good Girl…and her next book, too, Pretty Baby.
I have Secret Sisters on my Kindle…can't wait to read it! Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.
I definitely can't wait to read it. Sounds like a great book. I haven't read any of her books yet. So I'm excited.
Have a great week π
The Other Me looks fabulous, I have to go check that out. And I have The Good Girl on my Kindle to read someday soon, really looking forward to it as I loved Pretty Baby. Your New Years Eve sounds cosy and relaxing and a lot like the way we spent ours too. Happy New Year!
PS I hope you love The Sunday Post as much as I do. I took today off but I'll be back to it next Sunday π
Happy New Year to you too Trish. I must say I've been having a great day checking out all those Sunday Posts. So far I love it!! I can't wait to check out yours again next week! π
Yay! π It's my favourite meme and everyone is so welcoming, they quickly become friends.
I'm a bookaholic too. Glad to be in good company!
It sure is! Good company always seems to find each other π

Hi, Maureen, and welcome to the Sunday Post. I've been doing it for several years now, I think. I love the chance to visit, catch up on what people have been doing, and see if I missed any posts I really want to read.
Enjoy your new books! And I love your bookaholic quote at the end.
Thank you. I really love it so far. I've seen and read so many great things today. Exciting π
Thanks for stopping by!!
I love reading Sunday Posts too! It's just fun seeing what's going on with everyone else.
Sounds like you had a nice New Year's Eve—being surrounded by good food is never a bad way to spend a day π But seriously, how is it already the 3rd?! My New Year's Eve was very low-key, spent it at home and started reading a new book at midnight lol.
Glad to have found your blog, and I look forward to more posts in the future!
It's definitely fun checking out all these posts. Love it π
Time is going by very fast. I work as a nurse and I already had to write down if I wanted to work with Eastern or Pentecost! I mean.. hello.. I just cleaned out the Christmas stuff. LOL!!
Those days off just go by SO quickly don't they? I definitely wish my weekends were longer. It sounds like you had a wonderful New Years Eve. We get together with a few couples and have a big potluck and play games like Cards Against Humanity and a bunch of others. It was quite a lot of fun this year.
Welcome to the Sunday Post meme. You're going to love it! π
Thank you Stephanie. I really like it so far! π
It sounds like you also had a great NYE!! I love playing games, I definitely need to do it more often.
Happy New Year! I'm glad you joined in for the Sunday Post.
I'm really not looking forward to work tomorrow. A full work week just doesn't sound right anymore π
Hope you have a great week!
Thank you Yvonne. I think this particular Monday is the worst one of the year.. It just feels wrong going back to normal life after the holidays and family time.
Good luck today. π
Happy New Year! I am glad you were able to relax some this past week. I imagine your work is very tiring! Your New Year's Eve celebration sounds wonderful. A good way to bring in the New Year. We haven't taken down our Christmas decorations yet, but I imagine that will come soon.
The Book Girl is one I have my eye on. I hope you enjoy it when you read it. I snuck over to your best of list for last year. Tiffany Snow is an author I have been meaning to try, and I definitely plan to read Cinder this year.
I hope you have a great week, Maureen!
It definitely is a fun way to spend NYE!! It never gets boring!
The book I read by Tiffany Snow was really really good, so if she writes like that all the time she definitely is one of my new favorite authors. LOL!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who is a little behind on Marrisa Meyer's books. Cinder was great.. I can't wait to read the next one.
Your New Years tradition sounds lovely! My husband and I just stayed home and watched movies π Very relaxing. Welcome to The Sunday Post, by the way!
Here is my The Sunday Post!
Thanks Molly! It definitely was a great way to spend NYE!! I'll check your post out π

Thank your Maree. It's definitely a lot of fun so far! π
I hope you have a great week too!
Welcome to the Sunday Post! π My family and I stay home on New Years Eve, too. It gets harder every year to stay up until midnight, but so far I've managed. lol
Thank you! π I think it's important that everyone celebrates the way they want. Staying at home has always been my favorite way to celebrate.. I don't need a lot of people around me too celebrate the new year!
Happy New Year and welcome to the Sunday post! I also love reading everyone's post and it is a great way to meet other bloggers. I also stayed home with my family and it is nice to have a relaxing celebration for NYE. I hope you enjoy your new books and have a great week!
Thanks and Happy New Year to you too. It definitely has been a great Sunday reading all these posts. I was missing out for sure. π
happy new year! welcome to the sunday post! π
Thanks you! Happy new year to you too! π
I didn't do anything for the New Year Eve, but read. π I was trying to get two more books added to my 2015 goal and I did. π Time off always seems to go way faster than a work week…ugh. Happy reading!
Stormi
Sounds like a great way to spend your NYE Stormi. And you achieved your goal.. Jeeej!! That's awesome.

It wounds like you had a great New Year's! And welcome to the Sunday Post. It really is fun to catch-up with people. Enjoy your books and I hope the night shift isn't too hard for you.
Thank you. It really was great π
I meant to say "It sounds like …" I must have channeled your nursing job–haha!
LOL!! I understood π
My brother has been on the night shift as a nurse for some time. It gets a little old sometimes and hard when you have other responsibilities. Like you, my free days went way too fast and I have not been looking forward to this week of back-to-usual. Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a good week regardless! π
Tressa @ Wishful Endings
It definitely gets hard working the nightshift, the weekend and the holidays at times! But when I'm at work I forget about that feeling most times. It's mostly when I'm getting ready for work that I think.. Blegh.. π
I hope you have a great week!
Yay for your first Sunday Post! I love this feature too because it's so much more personal. π
And OMG! I'm warning you, Pinterest will suck a lot of your time but I absolutely love it! Do you have a link for it?

Delayed reaction, I know, but: It sounds like you had a great week! I hope the following one is going just as well. Though you probably had to go back to work. π (I'm a bit behind stopping by blogs from last week's update post comments…I'd say something special happened, but I'm always this far behind.)
Thanks for stopping by! Better late than never right π
