What to say about this week? It has been interesting for sure. I had to work on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. On Tuesday the little girl and I spend some time at my husbands work since our car had to go to the garage, which is near his office. It was making this weird sound, and luckily for us it could be made. It was so much fun seeing our little girl at her daddy’s work.
On Thursday we visited my sister in law. We did some catching up and our little girls had fun playing. On Thursday afternoon the Dutch government took some new measures to stop the spread of the coronavirus. Which meant that on Friday the country went a little crazy.. the stores are almost empty and when you go outside it look like a Sunday morning. It’s silent outside..
On Friday afternoon my vacation started. At least.. for now. As a nurse, in times of Corona, it was the question if I was allowed to start my vacation. For now I can take my vacation, but I can get called in at every moment. And with all the public places being closed down, plans are cancelled and my vacation sure doesn’t really feel like it. But for now I’m trying to enjoy it for as long as possible. I bought some fun stuff, puzzles and other educational stuff for our little girl. It really is a weird time right?
Did you guys hear about the Dean Koontz book ‘Eyes of Darkness’? You can google it with Corona.. It’s pretty crazy!
This upcoming week, although the world is going a little crazy.. I’m celebrating Maureen’s Books 6 year Blogiversary! 6 years!! I’m so exciting and happy about that. And I’m celebrating no matter what! LOL!
I hope you guys are safe and doing okay.

Happy anniversary for the blog! That’s exciting. But yeah the coronavirus thing not so much lol. Everything is being picked over here too in stores. Hope it doesn’t get too bad there- stay safe and well!
The Bouchet books look fun. 🙂
Thanks Greg. It’s definitely a weird time at the moment. I just went to the store with my little girl, and all the meat was gone. Sigh.. I quess we are going vegan. LOL!
Have a great week and happy reading.
Happy 6th Blogiversary! Sorry to here much is closed down and that you may called back into work during your vacation. Currently, schools are open here in the UK, so I am still at work and generally continuing life as normal as I can. But there is a lot of panic buying here, too! I hope you and your loved ones stay safe, healthy and happy. <3
I hope you are well to Jessica. Yesterday evening the government decided to close the schools here too. I just hope things get better soon, and in the mean time.. Lets try to enjoy our ‘free’ time and read as much as we can. 😉
Have a great week and happy reading.
Happy 6th Blogiversary! =D Since new measures were announced by our government to contain the virus that I have only visited small stores when I need to and luckily these still have perishables, canned food and toilet paper (I still don’t understand why people need so much toilet paper).
Stay safe and I hope you can enjoy your holiday.
Happy readings!
I definitely don’t understand the toilet paper either. The whole world is going on lock down and everyone buys toilet paper. LOL!
Have a great week Tania.
Happy Blog Anniversary!
Hannah @ Back Shelf Books
Thanks Hannah. Tomorrow I’m celebrating! 😉
6 years is a long and I hope you are staying safe during these trying times. And is it true that Dean Koontz had written about the virus? Coincidence?
Yes weird right? I mean.. I’m not really someone who beliefs in conspiracy theories etc. But the whole Dean Koontz thing is weird. He even describes Wuhan.
Have a great week and happy reading.
Happy anniversary!! <3 <3 I hope you guys can all stay home and safe during these times. There's a ton of panic buying going on where I am. I went out to do my usual friday shopping and the grocery store was packed with people.
Thanks Erica. It’s definitely crazy outside at the moment. My mom was almost pushed to the ground while trying to get to the hairspray. Hairspray?! Crazy.
Have a great week and happy reading.
Sorry to hear that everything is shut down just as your holiday is due to start. I hope you manage to have a good time, despite all that… Glad you have had a chance to have some enjoyable family time with your little girl and I hope the coming week is as pleasant as possible.
Well, I don’t have anything to complain about really. I’m trying to enjoy every minute I can spend with my little girl.
Have a great week and happy reading.
Congrats on the 6 years! I think the time is still precious even if you do different things. Rest up while you can; I also think things will be much worse before they are better. The groceries were crazy here too but the stuff we like isn’t popular so we are fine.
I really liked Nightchaser and I have Starbreaker to review also.
Stay safe and healthy! Enjoy your time off and a few books!
Anne – Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
Thanks Anne. I’m celebrating on the blog tomorrow! 😉
I can’t wait to start reading Nightchaser. It sounds like a great series.
Have a great week and happy reading.
Crazy times indeed! Hopefully you don’t get called in during your vacation and you’re still able to enjoy the time off. Happy blogoversary, Maureen! Eight years is pretty amazing.
Thanks Tanya. I’m definitely trying to enjoy every minute. 😉
Have a great week and happy reading.
Happy blogiversary! I hope you’re able to enjoy your vacation and are not called back to work.
Thanks AJ. I hope so too, but if I’m needed, I’m glad to help.
Have a great week and happy reading.
Sounds like it’s getting just as crazy there as it is here. Interesting to hear how different countries are handling things. Hope you don’t end up having to work!
It’s definitely like watching a tv show when you look at the news at the moment.
Have a great week and happy reading.
