Jul
Another
week has flown by and it’s already July. Damn, time goes by fast. This week I
had to work the nightshift till Tuesday morning. I had three nightshifts and
they were really super busy. My job is busy a lot, but this was just crazy and
I was exhausted when they were done. But I planned some stuff to do this week
and didn’t let my tiredness get me down.
Monday it
was the 20th anniversary of the publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher
Stone, and as a real Harry Potter fan I got super excited about everything
Harry Potter on tv, on the web and even on the radio. It was definitely a great
week for us Harry Potter fans! To celebrate I did a fun blog post on Tuesday,
and on Wednesday I cleaned my book room and I finally created my Harry Potter
shelve. I had been wanting to do this shelve for months but I just didn’t get
to it. Now I finally did, and I alphabetized all the new books I received over
the last couple of months. I’m super happy with the result. I even made a nice
and cozy reading couch/nook. :D:D
I had some back pains after my nightshift, and reorganizing books and standing
on a ladder wasn’t really the best thing to do. So Thursday and Friday when I
had to work, I couldn’t really do a lot because of the pain in my back. Blegh..
Thankfully it’s slowly getting better.
This
weekend I’m free from work, and on Friday night and Saturday morning I went
with my husband to my mom’s house to help with breaking down their kitchen.
They are getting a new one next week, so the old one had to go away. I couldn’t
do a lot with my back, but I did manage to help with some moral support. LOL!!
was another productive blogging week. I finally did my ‘The Mid-Year Freakout Book Tag’ post! It was really
fun to do. I also managed to read a book I really wanted to finish this week.
So I’m happy. And with my new reading area I’m planning to do a lot more
reading this weekend!
everyone else doing? Did you get to reading what you wanted this week?

I hope your back is back to being good now, Maureen, it's so hard to do anything at all when it hurts, and even more so, I'm sure when you're a nurse.
Your new book looks really good, and I love your book room!
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.
Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews
Thanks Lexxie. It slowly feels better. But I hope it will still feel better when I have to work again tomorrow.
I'm really curious to start 'The Rainbow Player'. And it's a gorgeous cover right?!
Have a great week and happy reading!
I drove out to the closest Barnes & Noble for the HP anniversary and they didn't have anything going on! They didn't have the anniversary editions and their HP table was smaller and emptier than usual! It was sad. 🙁
Stacy Renee @ Lazy Day Literature
Wow.. That is sad. They could have really had a great selling day if they did something with the 20 year anniversary I think. Too bad for them.
Have a great week and happy reading!
Wow, you have a book room? It looks amazing. I love your HP shelf.
Thanks I'm really proud of it! I want to be in that room all the time now.. Sigh..
Have a great week and happy reading!
Love what you've done with the book room! What fun to curl up there. Sorry about the back issues, though. That happens to me, too, when I move things around in my house.
I wish I were a Harry Potter fan….everyone who loves the books has a lot of fun. But I do love J. K. Rowling…her interviews, how she has achieved so much…and her satirical tweets to the Beast "running" the US right now…LOL.
Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.
Thanks Laurel. I'm really loving my book room. It has an amazing feel to it.. I can't wait to be able to curl up there with my book again..
J.K. Rowling is definitely a fun author to follow on Twitter. She never gets boring! LOL!!
Have a great week and happy reading!
Back pain is the worst. I am glad you are starting to feel better. I love your Harry Potter shelf and new reading area! I liked what Facebook did in honor of the 20th anniversary. I can't believe it's been that long! I didn't catch the fever until the fourth book came out–I was in graduate school at the time, so definitely a late comer.
I hope you have a great week, Maureen!
I know right?! Where has the last 20 years gone too? I can remember reading Harry Potter for the first time.. I was just ecstatic. 😉
Have a great week and happy reading!
Sorry to hear about the back pain! Hopefully that passes soon. and love that pic of your bookshelves- they look awesome! Very nice. Your reading nook looks cozy too. 🙂
Hope you have another good reading week!
Thanks Greg. My back is getting better everyday. I hope it stays away for a long long time now, but with my job it's kind of hard to be good for your back all the time.
Have a great week and happy reading!
Haha..I love the mme. I listen to book one as a treat to celebrate the anniversary and as part of the WW Book Club. Hope your back feels better soon 🙂
That's a great way to celebrate Kimberly. I've started reading the first book again!! 😀
Have a great week and happy reading!
YEs for Harry Potter 20th anniversary! Such a fun week! oh now I'm jelous and want to have a Harry Potter shelve! 🙂 I don't have one yet! What kinda fan am I???
LOL!! Yes you really should make that shelve ASAP!! I'm definitely loving my Harry Potter shelve.. I still can't stop looking at it! 😀
Have a great week and happy reading!
Coincidentally, I started watching the HP movies last Sunday, and I watched the third and fourth on the anniversary. And then the next disc froze. I am pissed with that boxed set purchase. 🙁 Your shelves and the nook look FANTASTIC! I love it!!
That's horrible.. And that on the anniversary! Sigh..
Thanks Charlie. I'm really happy with my new shelves 😀
