For Billy Bobble and his best friend Suzy Quinofski, it’s
hard enough to be thirteen and in high school without having to fight evil at
every turn, but it’s even harder to do that while they try to get their memory
back after a magic spell cast by a villainous physics teacher. Even without
their memories, Billy and Suzy know something is not right. Their textbooks
have been changed, their parents aren’t acting right, their teachers are
afraid, and Billy and Suzy are in each other’s dreams. But when their history
teacher is fired during class for answering a question from one of those
dreams, Billy and Suzy get their memories back. Soon they realize that evil has
been unleashed upon the human race, and only the two of them, their friends,
and their families can stop it.

My Review:

Last year I read the first Billy Bobble novel called ‘Billy Bobble Makes a Magic Wand’. I really loved that book, so when the author R.S.
Mellette asked me if I wanted to read the next book in the Billy Bobble series
I immediately said yes. The Billy Bobble series can easily be read as a children’s
book, but if you ask me it’s also a great read for grown-ups.
In ‘Billy Bobble and the Witch Hunt’ we meet Billy and
his best friend Suzy again. Billy and Suzy are still the only thirteen year
olds in high school. And if that is not hard enough, now they are also having
weird dreams and something strange is definitely going on with their memory. Everything
is changing and not for the good. And soon Billy and Suzy are the ones who need
to save human kind from evil.
Just as with the first book I loved reading about Billy
Bobble and his best friend Suzy. Billy and Suzy are just such fun characters
that I love reading about them. Being the youngest and smartest people at
school isn’t always easy. And reading about their lives and adventures is
really fun.
‘Billy Bobble and the Witch Hunt’ is a thrilling story
and right from the beginning there is a lot happening. You definitely have to
keep up. But I loved every single page.
Although this book also contains some talk about physics
and other complicated stuff I know nothing about, I never felt like I missed
important stuff. I enjoyed getting inside the head of those brilliant children.
There is more than enough going on to keep this book an interesting read.
If you ask me R.S. Mellette did another great job with
this Billy Bobble series. The characters are fun and memorable and I think
readers from all ages will enjoy this one.
